Here's a hypothetical question. Suppose the battery in the Fit is either completely dead or missing, or a connection/cable went bad. You could use the key to open the driver's door, but what about the hatch? There's no way to use a key, and there isn't a remote lever.

The owner's manual shows a procedure for opening the hatch manually from the inside.

 

Right. Someone posted that a couple of days ago. They call it a tailgate, rather than hatch, so I couldn't find it.
