Question Dash display issues? Anyone else notice this?

Hey all!

I noticed the other day when starting my car that the time on the dash display and the infotainment unit did not match. The dash display was incorrect and the info screen showed the correct time. I turned the car off and then on again twice to see if it would change and no change. I went to the Settings menu to reset it and that didn't work. Drove around for a bit and I'm not sure how long it took but it eventually corrected itself and has not done it since. I also noticed once that the gas gauge on the dash went down by a bar and then went up by a bar and then back down in a matter of 10 minutes or so.

Has anyone had this experience before? I thought I could blame it on the cold but I have driven this car in much colder weather with no such issue. I know it's fairly minor and it does correct itself but I'm a little concerned about it, especially if it's something that's going to keep happening.

Thank you!

Nope, I've never seen anything like that happen before, that is strange. My first thought is that it could be an issue with the 24 hour clock setting but the time difference doesn't make sense. If it persists, I'd mention it to the dealer at your next visit.

Do you have the GPS model OP ? With my older Civic with a GPS display, the time is automatically set, but unknown if the one on the Fit will change the dash display immediately or a short delay, which might be the issue, just not 100% sure. Just a guess.

Time is synced via GPS. I'd expect a slight delay as well between the two displays. If it didn't update I'd suggest disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, reconnect and restart the car. It wipes out the memory real quick and forces the car to relearn about itself. Had to do this the other day when I pulled the wrong relay looking for the headlight relay.

After you reconnected your battery, did you have to enter a radio code?

If I don't have Navigation, then the clock still needs to be adjusted manually though, right?

I do as well. EX with no Navi. The clock is set on the HU. You can manually set it yes, however once you select the time zone, the time syncs through GPS. The HU has the parts for GPS, but lacks the software to use the GPS components for NAVI. Crippled software is not my idea of a good deal as others have mentioned.

Nope, it just asked to hold the power button for two seconds. I unknowingly when trying to find my DRL headlight relay I removed every relay in the fuse panels to back probe which one operated the daytime running lamps. This caused the check engine, TMPS, and power steering warning lights to stay on though everything worked normal. Disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes wipes the memory of the ECM except for the odometer. It cleared the trouble codes and all was good there. FWIW I haven't found the DRL relay yet.. I hear it click, and its likely buried deep under the dash.

Hmm. I'll have to go through the menu next time I'm in the car to check the whole time zone thing. I picked my car up March 11, a couple days after DST and I remember having to manually set it 1 hour forward myself while I was still at the dealership. I don't remember seeing anything about time zones in the manual either.

I've also had this problem. :P

I will ask my dealership about it.
For me, when I realized the time were different I just manually changed back to the right time.
