Parking brake adjustment - 2015 GK with manual transmission

Got my Fit in February, have 5000km on it and the parking brake lever/cable/whatever needed adjustment badly, but it wasn't obvious to me just where the adjustment nut was located. Somewhere inside the center console...

Summoning my inner cave-man, I discovered how to get the back of the console off (yank it off)...

Stick a 1/2" or 13mm deep socket in between the two cables

These bolt heads will get in your way

The adjuster nut is like the rear drum brake adjuster on a motorcycle (no surprise) and does not have or require a locknut, it just has to be adjusted in half turn steps

If you're not sure how much to adjust it, take it to a mechanic. Don't overdo it and ruin your rear brakes.

Agreed. Mine was really loose and the dealer told me the whole console had to be removed. I just did this myself in about 2 minutes thanks to this post.
