I'm betting on some color changes, and possibly a radio change on the EX. That seems to be pretty universally panned by most critics.
Just curious since I'll be purchasing a new car in the coming months...

Maybe, but that's just not the way Honda seems to do things. they generally run on a six year product cycle with a mid cycle (three year) "refresh" (new grill, new colors). I'm not expecting that until 2018.
Maybe a color change. The radio is unchanged in the HR-V which isn't out yet. Not conclusive, but worth noting.
The "big" things that change every year are manufacturing processes to improve quality, stomp bugs and defects, etc.

I am personally holding out for Android Auto (I would have bought a 2015). If the 2016 doesn't have it, then the VW Golf it is

Hopefully my 2008 Fit can hold off until then.......
I don't expect any mechanical or body changes until they do the next full update in 5 or 6 years. It's worth noting that Honda has already submitted the 2016 model fuel economy figures to Fuel Economy and they are exactly the same as the 2015 figures. We're looking to get a new Fit now that the 2009 Fit is over 100k miles (we'll be keeping it for the "second" car), but we're waiting to see if the 2016 model has any other color choices. Honda does somtimes make color changes before the mid-model updates.
Dealerships in my area have almost no stock of the Fit currently; 1 or 2 LX models, and about a dozen EX models between 5 large dealerships. This means very limited selection on options and colors.
One dealership said that (A) Honda had completely switched the Fit factory in Mexico over to producing HR-Vs, so they couldn't order any additional 2015 Fit stock, and (B) the 2016 model wasn't expected until November. This almost got me to purchase one of their limited selection on the spot, but I'm fairly suspicious.
Anyone know if these two claims are legit, or utter bullocks?
I'm also extremely interested in Android Auto, but would be willing to purchase a current 2015 if the price was right, or if 2016 had no real improvements.

I beleive its true .
I bought my six speed LX at the end of April and even than choices were narrow . Look through as much inventory as possible , online ,in as many Honda Dealers you can find. Good luck .
The most current official news from a Honda employee is that there will be pretty much no changes whatsoever in terms of trims, colors, features etc for the US or Canada.
At most I think it'll just be quality control, though that's not official either. I think over the course of this model year there have been slight changes in the process - an example is how later models get Firestone tires versus earlier models getting Bridgestones. But that's just tires, not even anything related to quality control. Anecdotally, I have a late 2015 model and I have none of the little quality issues I see other people complaining about - doors that don't sit flush, uneven or wide gaps in sheet metal, etc, so I'm leaning towards thinking that quality progressively increased in 2015 models as production went on. So I guess.. Keep your fingers crossed?
It's also possible that software updates will come out which will be standard on new models and upgradeable in old models.. Possibly something like Android support, though again, I'm just completely guessing.
And in terms of the Mexico plant completely switching for hrv's that's false. They stopped production in early may to RETOOL the plant for production of hrv's in addition to fits, while some current gen fits will also be produced back in Japan.

the other thing i could possibly see being added to the '16s is Apple CarPlay, if you care about having that. according to another thread it won't be available on older models.

Perhaps wishful thinking, but I just heard a rumor that they are hard at work on a Type R variant with more enthusiast oriented suspension/brakes/wheels/tires and powered by the 194HP version of the Accord 2.4L motor, 6 spd manual or CVT available. That was the good rumor. The bad rumor is that it likely won't come stateside....
