How to keep the fit running and have the doors locked?
We just got our new Fit EX, and so far we love it.
My wife ran into a problem on Saturday however.
She sometimes delivers cakes for work and needs to be able to have the car running(so the AC is keeping the car and cakes cool) while she runs in and drops a cake off.
How can she accomplish this?
I tried walking away with the fob and the car started beeping at me like mad.
I asked the guy at the dealership today and he said he didn't think it could be done. But he didn't seem like he listened at all either.

I think you should be able to do it if you exit through a door that isn't the driver's door and manually lock the door on the way out with the door lock button. (If you don't want to crawl around the car to get out, exit the driver's door, close it, and then open the passenger door and reach across to lock the driver's door—or maybe even use the power lock button.)
This is untested theory at present. Actual results may vary from expectations.

I'm not sure if this will work either, and you will need to use both key fobs. Leave one key fob in the car, manually lock the doors and keep the 2nd key fob with you. I'm just not sure you will be able to keep the doors locked with the fob inside the car.

DrewE's suggestion for opening the passenger's side and reaching over to lock it works. I know because that's how I locked my key in the car when I tried to show my sistet how it was a smart car and won't allow you to lock your key inside. Made me look dumb but at the same time I defeated one of the car's safety features so I guess in the end I came out on top.
Two things you should know though. I just tested this with the engine on, last time I looked my key in with the engine off. First, you have to manually lock it, pushing the lock button won't do anything since one door is open and the engine is on. Just push the lock so it actuates, it'll lock everything else. When you come back, the smart key feature stops working since it thinks you're inside the car. You have to use your key and physically unlock it. I don't know if this is worth the hassle to you.

If you remove the physical key from the fob you can use the key to lock the car with the car running or not; with the fob in the car. No alarms go off and no police drag you away screaming "but it's my car, it really is"!
I personally tested this today with our 1 month old 2015 Fit.

In 2017 you can’t lock it while on, even if someone is in it. Even better- if it’s off and you get in and press lock bc someone might be following you, you can’t start your own car! This car has ruined my life and put my kids in danger bc of this.
