many small rectangular holes in firewall

Have you guys noticed the excess amount of holes in the engine bay especially in the engine bay firewall that is right by the drivers side wheel well. I think this will cause unnecessary moisture and dirt to enter the engine bay. There are many rectangular small holes all over the firewall. Can I tape them up? I'll take a picture if you guys dont know what I'm talking about.

They are for the round pegs.

I've seen them. I figure they're mounting points for equipment for some other market configuration of the Fit. Those cars probably have other empty holes that are used for something else on our cars.

I wouldn't worry about them, but if it makes you feel better I suppose you could put some duct tape over them, or find some small rubber hole plugs to stick in them..

If you are going to cover them use something a bit more workmanlike than duct tape. Aluminum foil tape will last much longer and look better.

Just make sure that you aren't sealing something that should be vented!

Luckily there aren't that many as compared to the lx model. Thanks for the replies.
