Just Drove across the US!
This past Monday I had to leave California and move back to DC, we drove a 2015 Fit EX 6 speed and a 2013 Ridgeline together. According to the vehicle computers, we drove 2917 miles exactly in 3.5 days. Both vehicles were packed as full as could be inside only.
The car computers say the Fit averaged 38.8 mpg (20.1 on the Ridgeline), we drove between 75-85mph (5 mph over posted speed limits).
I am 6'2", the Fit for me is probably the most comfortable car I have owned - this one is more so than my 2011 for some reason. The 6 speed did fine on the hills, I did find to maintain speed at the higher altitudes I had to drop to 5th gear (I finally found a use for it!).
In Utah climbing a mountain at over 7k feet, the freaking TPMS light came on initially freaking me out because I thought at first it was the temp light - a few seconds later my heart stopped racing and I reset the system at the next stop and it stayed off. I find I have to reset this stupid system every few months which I see other's have the same problems. Fix it Honda please!
I have discovered that having a sunroof and this new radio are problematic to see in the daytime with the sun shining overhead. Handling on the highway at higher speeds is fine with this car, I have noticed that around 90mph or so it tends to get a little light feeling.
We were lucky with having good weather the entire way across. At dusk, the amount of bugs became problematic - we actually had to stop before we needed gas to clean the windshield(s), the front of the Fit actually didn't look yellow if you can believe that!!!
I turned 8k miles, I will soon begin commuting via car between DC and NYC next month so, this thing is going to rack up some miles rather quickly.
I just thought I would throw this info out there if anybody was curious about longer trips in the Fit. No car is perfect, but for the price this car is a great value as far as I am concerned.

I agree and am considering tinting my sunroof window along with the others in two weeks.
Congrats on your journey, reading this has stirred my wanderlust and I'm just a bit envious. As to the sunroof problem, I'm also annoyed with that. I've closed it up more than once already because I couldn't see and I needed to find things on the iPod.
Nice report! I've never had an issue with the TPMS and I've been driving it since early November but then I'm super religious in taking car of my Fit. If you stay on top of your tire pressures shouldn't be a problem.
I am pretty serious about the maintenance, I had TPMS light come on starting day 2 and the dealership just reset it and told me to do the same. I even increased the tire pressure.
I prefer the Ridgeline's TPMS, it tells you the offending tire at least versus a generic light.

Same with mine, came on the day after I got it, I immediately reset it and haven't seen it since.
Great report. We just got back from a 2300 mile trip to Yosemite. Average gas mileage was 44 mpg. Lots of cruise control, keeping at or below speed limit. No issues with car. Absolutely loving driving this thing.
Great to hear the other positive reports. I just finished a 950 mile run through the mountains of VA, across Virginia to Norfolk and back down/across the state of North Carolina. No interstate driving (on purpose). Passed the 3,000 mile mark in less than a month of ownership. Navigation and satellite radio make traveling especially fun in my opinion and I highly recommend those features for anyone on the fence.
Not across the US, but this Saturday, July 4th I will drive about 1100 miles from Houston to Tucson (in 2 days). Three weeks later I will drive the return leg. I hope for the Fit to perform well.
I really enjoy these kinds of threads where people talk about their long distance and/or high mileage experiences with the Fit, so thanks for posting!
