lower rpm stumble

I bought a 2015 Fit EX about one month ago with only 400 miles on the odometer. It is an EX with a six speed manual transmission. I am very happy with my car but recently I notice there is a little stumble or a hesitation when I am cruising in town at about 40 mph in fourth gear with the tachometer reading 2000 to 3000 rpm. It is almost like someone is applying the brakes lightly. It does NOT do this under acceleration only when maintaining a constant speed. Any ideas? Considering it sat for awhile??

Mine does it around 2200 rpm, under light acceleration or steady state at that speed....I just accelerate through it and font cruise at 2200....don't even notice anymore

Mine has done this from day one. (2016, six speed)
I drive with a very light foot. Moderate or high acceleration and its gone.

It feels like the electronics cant quite figure out if I want to accelerate or engine brake...

My biggest complaint about this car is the stumble, hesitation, hunting, on normal acceleration from a stop. The tach doesn't seem to move or twitch but I can feel it all the time and it is very annoying. If I stomp on it, it seems to act fine

FWIW, I have yet to drive a direct injected vehicle that doesn't have that same low rpm stumble when under moderate load.

My Lincoln does it bad enough that I force a downshift. Dad's 2017 CR-V does it. Friends Hyundai Veloster Turbo does it. Rental Chevy Tahoe, Etc.

I honestly just think that some people are aware enough to notice the stumble and some just give it more throttle or downshift and don't notice it. Personally, I find it highly annoying.

Check for bad coils. A mechanics can check if a cylinder is missing a spark. Does the symptom comes when you try to accelerate hard? Does the engine seems like it is not getting enough gas?

I bought this car for its potential efficiency. Since June I've been averaging 4.8l/100k (48.5 US mpg). I will accept the stumble!

It's really all in the nature of my daily commute. It's 82km, all on roads where the speed limit is between 60 and 80 kph. I stick to the limit and stay in 6th gear, engine brake and try to be smooth.

I had a first gen Fit prior to this. Until now this one is about 9% better in terms of efficiency.

I'd guestimate that highway speeds (110kph)would knock off 10% based on my experience.

regards
