Grill guard needed for GK ?

I have a PBP EX CVT and it's my first Honda. In researching the Fit I run into a common problem of air conditioning issues caused by rocks and road debris hitting the compressor or the lines causing leaks that was not covered by the warranty. In the redesign for 2015's was this issue addressed? Does the new Fit need a aftermarket grill guard to protect the air conditioning? Here in Florida it's critical to have it and I think it's the number 1 reason why people dump a car cheep because it is so expensive to get fixed. Is there any even on the market yet ?

I have not heard of this being an issue with the 2015 Fit. I don't recall ever reading about any complaints either. Was this a problem with the first 2 generations?

The GE fit had pretty large rectangular openings in the lower grill, and there were a number of threads about damage to the condenser from stones entering the large openings. Several people posted write-ups on DIY solutions (wire mesh, etc.).

The GK has much smaller hexagonal "honeycomb" grille openings, so I expect this shouldn't be quite the issue it may have been before. The openings are smaller, and the honeycomb shape should make the grille stronger (still plastic, of course). FWIW, I never had a problem with my GE, but then I don't follow other vehicles closely and am careful around road construction.

Any vehicle can be improved but some do have weaknesses that need to be addressed by the new owner. For example I'm looking for a dual battery set up down the road to have a power inverter connected. At the very least up grade to a better, stronger one over the stock battery. Same with LED's for the interior lights. I'm glad to hear it's better grill with smaller openings since the Fit has such a low ground clearance.
