Fit-only streak ends after 52 days, and it was weird
Today I ran my wife's Scion XB2 AT (don't be cruel) just outside of town to fuel up. As I pulled up next to it, I realized it's been the first time I've been behind the wheel of a car that wasn't my EX 6MT since I got it 52 days and about 1800 miles ago.
It was weird. I wanted to hit the start button once and just stared at the spot where it should be for a good few seconds before I realized why I had a key in my hand. A car that before felt solid, smooth and maybe even sleek was now big and unwieldy, almost barge-ish, a sensation I had never felt before with this car and frankly I was kind of shocked. At one point I stupidly stood outside the door pulling the handle once, twice, three times -- waiting for an unlock beep that would never come. And of course I went for the clutch a few times, but that's not so unusual.
Fortunately I had picked up the car at her office, which meant I had to drop it off and take the Fit back home. It wasn't until I was well out of the lot and mashed through all six gears (strange because in town I've already gotten into the habit of getting up to speed in fourth or maybe even third then skipping directly to sixth gear) that my world was normal again.

My wife's VW Routan (rebadged Town & Country) positively feels like a barge compared to the Fit… She's driven the Fit several times and said she really enjoyed driving it, but I can't talk her into downsizing (yet). (c:

I can relate.
Over Easter, I went to Denver for 4 days and had a 2013 Kia Soul for a rental.
I was excited at first when I found out it was a Soul. "Cool, it'll basically be like driving the Fit" I thought to myself. Boy, I couldn't be more wrong.
First of all, I know the Fit is not "fast", but the Soul was quite possibly the slowest car I've ever driven. And besides being slow, it handled absolutely terribly. That body roll...
Worst of all, the interior was a sea of cheap, hard, hollow, plastic. I wasn't sure if I was driving a car or a Playskool toy.
I travel a fair bit for work, and this was by far the worst rental I've ever gotten.
I put 180-some miles on that Soul and I hated every minute. I cannot tell you how happy I was to get in my Fit at the airport when I got home.

I went to Florida about two weeks after I bought my Fit, and my father-in-law rented a Lincoln Navigator... what a massive piece of garbage that thing is... I hadn't been in my Fit long enough for it to be a shock to the system, but it was still a little weird driving such a beast after the Fit. I mean, I owned an Aveo 5 before the Fit, but it was heavier handling and not as smooth, so any larger vehicle was not as much of a shock.
I wanted my fit back ASAP.

I had to take my SO's car to the shop three times for different reasons in a two week span. I kept taking the car back to him right after the work was finished and was soooo happy to be back in my FIT!
He drives a 2006 Acura MDX. I'm 4'11 and 92 lbs.
My FIT really fits me!

Haha, when I hop in my wife's Nissan Xterra I feel like I'm working an old time ship wheel attached to an M1 Abrams tank churning through tapioca pudding. It's like the time lapse of Conan the Barbarian growing up pushing that giant wooden wheel. So stronk after a drive!
Maybe that explains why my wife has been kicking my arse lately...
