Anyone with an EX MT that wishes they had an automatic?
A big reason I chose the Fit was the availability of a manual transmission in an "upper" trim level. Most of its competition seems to offer a manual only in the "base" version, and, at this point in life, I won't buy "base" models.
If I could have it with a manual, I might have bought the EX-L Navi.

You wrote, "Just had ceramic tint installed (15% in front and 30% in rear), and a heat/glare reduction sheet installed on the windsheild (really does help with head off front glass)."
I'm sorry to be of no help with your original question (I have the CVT myself).
But, would you be so kind - do you have a link to a heat/glare reduction sheet? Is this something that needs to be professionally installed? I never heard of this but it sounds awesome! Pricey??
Thank you!
And best of luck in your quest. I do miss my previous car's manual transmission, though I like the cvt too.

It was $100. A little pricey, but it makes a huge difference on the amount of heat I get from the front glass while driving down the interstate.
Whoops. Sent you the wrong link. Sorry about that.

I got the AIR 80 on the windshield.
I didn't get a tint strip across the front because the tint guy said they'd have to lay it over the AIR 80, and that would void the warranty of both. FWIW, he said he'd done it on several cars, and even showed me his truck having both. He suggested to wait since the clear tint needs to really cure for a month before putting anything atop it, so to just see if it's worth getting it after the month period.
The heat reduction is awesome, but it would still be nice to have the tint strip. I think in a couple weeks, I'm going to go on in a have the strip added. ATM, I'm just driving with both visors down, but that's a bit of a pain when your'e at a stop light that hangs right over the stop bar.
The tint guy said the only real danger of laying one tint over the other is that it has been known to cause bubbling, which is why the warranty is voided. I figure I'll wait his allotted month curing period, have the strip added if I just have to, and if it bubbles, I'll be out $130 (100 for clear and 30 for strip), if not, then I have a lot of extra heat reduction on the car, and the tint strip that everyone wants.
Here in Florida, where it's always too sunny, it's worth the risk.

When you get it done, please post pictures. I'd love to see.
I was financed at 3.5%. I decided if I couldn't get a Fiesta ST, then I didn't want a Fiesta at all (because I didn't want to be reminded of the fact that I didn't get the one I ACTUALLY wanted), so I asked the dealer to run the numbers on a Fit. The numbers were favorable, so I told them to grab any EX off the lot that wasn't silver, and drive it to my house. I ended up with black.
I was quoted $650 at a local place to have it done in Camo Tan. I am then going to grab a can of Plastidip black, and stencil in all of the stuff I had painted on my HUMVEE in Iraq, but updated for my life today. For example, the window name stencil will be my name up front, and my dog's name for all of the other windows. MOGAS will be stenciled over the fuel door. Shit like that.
When I bought my fit, what I really wanted was a Fiesta ST. If I could get financed at 0%, it would have met my desired price point.

Me. I whish I got the cvt. Manual is ok but sometimes it gets frustrating and the ratio is not good. But the price was pretty good. The cvt is the same price that the hyundai elantra that is more car than this. But it was out of my budget. Sometimes i like the cvt then i drive it fast and having fun shifting gear and I forget it.
Here in Toronto there are no 6MTs to test drive. I tried all the local dealerships and they said that all 6MTs are ordered, with a 4-6 week wait, but in the case of the 2016 Fit 6MT they would not even commit to this. I test drove the CVT 3 times. While it was Ok, I was hesitant to drop $20k on a transmission I did not even test drive, no matter the positive recommendations from others. I wanted much better than just Ok. I also have a motorcycle background, so shifting to me is very natural.
It turns out that one local dealership just happened to receive a 6MT LX and they were willing to let us test drive it. I had to wait a week for them to prep the car, and then 1 hour for them to get the car out of their lot, but it was worth it. We ordered the car straight away from that dealer.
I want to teach my kids to be global citizens so that if they happen to go to Uruguay and get behind a 6MT they won't go bug eyed with fear. the chances of them going to a country that is predominantly MT is high. I appreciate the $1k savings. personally I just cannot see myself, ever, buying an auto. Yes, the CVT is better than other manufacturer's autos, but it is not anywhere near as fun as a 6MT.

Sometimes when I'm wading through 1.5+ hours of rush hour traffic. I dislike that, but I knew that was going to be an issue coming in.
That said, I got a really good deal on my car because it was an MT (and they were just trying to empty the lot of the leftovers from '15 at that point), so the probably $1500-2000 I saved makes up for a few minutes of PITA rush hour. I'm also guessing I'm getting at least a few MPG more over a CVT in this, so just add that on to the total money I'm saving.
