I think you have to connect through hondalink?

I don't have an iPhone and my text to voice options are blanked out in the fit's option settings.

My Galaxy S4 reads texts but doesn't display who they're from, just their phone number.

What do you mean by this? Under the HondaLink area in the Bluetooth profile?I have all notifications turned on and have the same phone as you, but it has never read texts to me. I have the same phone as you.

Wait. How does your LX read texts? Do you have a Canadian LX?

I didn't think the lx could read text. That would be awesome if it could.

On your phone, go to settings -> Bluetooth. Find your car. Tap on the I. Turn on notifications.

I go to that on my phone and there's no notifications to choose there, only contact and call activity synching. I have an LX, so I was pretty sure it didn't have this feature.

I have an LX and it tells me who texts are from, reads me the message, and asks me if I would like to respond. I think that's a phone feature not a car feature? I have a Nokia Icon and I really doubt Honda integrated with Windows Phone.

Basically the sequence of event is :
1. boop
2. You have received a message from {contact}. Would you like to read it or ignore it? (read it)
3. {message contents}
4. Would you like to respond? (yes)
5. What do you want to say (or something along those lines) (dictate)
6. You said {message}. Do you want to send or change it?

I thought it worked on my Galaxy S3 too back when I had that but perhaps I misremember.

My LX is a US version.
Like Sham24 just below this post said, I think it's a phone feature rather than a car feature. The sequence of events described is exactly what I get when a text message comes in.
I hope this helps proliferate Nokia Windows phones since I actually like them better than Androids and I-phones.

I just connect my Galaxy S4 with bluetooth to my EX and it reads out every text I get...screws up some words, but works pretty well. Never had an issue at all with it.

It worked with my Android G2
Does not work with my IP6. IP6 doesnt display names from phone book either like the Android phone did, just the number calls are coming from/to

It is. Windows Phone is, feature for feature, far superior to iOS and Android, but iOS and Android have greater app support, which is why they are so popular.
