I picked up my 2016 today and there were a couple on the lot. They are coming in. I'll be taking better pics tomorrow when it's sunny. Love it so far!

I assumed that Honda was in a hurry to pump out the HRVs because their markup would be higher. The dealership said that it was pretty similar, but I suppose they could be lying.

It is nice to see 2016s start to show up more places!

The dealership's markup may be similar. That says nothing about Honda's profit.

That is a good point. They also were adding a car in an area where they didn't have any market share. I would consider an AWD HRV if I still lived in Colorado.

Between the new HR-V, the lower gas prices and the awkward styling of the new fits (my opinion), I think they are losing popularity. I don't see nearly as many new fits on the road as I do the older models and although I love my 2010 fit sport and would recommend it to anyone, the appeal of the AWD HR-V is really making me consider turning mine in.

Well, styling opinions are just that, opinions. Personally, I think the HR-V is godawful ugly. OTOH, I really like the styling of the new Fit (though it took a while for me to get used to it.) The new Fit has been out for only a year, and Honda hasn't been able to deliver enough of them. The GE was out for SIX years, and the GD for two in the U.S.

Weird, that I still see more GDs than GEs.

The HR-V is 500 lb heavier with only a 11hp increase in power, over the Fit. This would make it accelerate much slower than your Fit. The AWD does not come in manual. Have you done a test drive?

I just checked Cars.com, and four LX CVT fits have been listed here in SoCal with "J" VINs!

Perhaps the drought is over?

Four cars in the largest car market in North America hardly indicates the end of a "drought" IMO.

I suppose it's a start, but now I'm wondering what impact the cat. 5 hurricane bearing down on Mexico will have on production and delivery from Mexico. Prayers for those in the path of the storm.

2016 Fit base 6MT WOP (Canadian version) sitting in my driveway. Canadian base model has a short rear visor for he hatch door, similar to the JDM.

Rear hatch has no key lock, so need to use the remote. I'd prefer the old way. So glad I got the 5" non-touch screen with the volume control. Volume control and radio station buttons are easy to use.

Gearing is even shorter than my motorcycle. I can't even get through an intersection before I need to shift into second. Speedo lights go from green (low revs) to blue (higher revs), I assume to conserve gas, but the green light only goes on at <2k rpm. That means at 60kh/37mph, I need to be in 6th in order to still have the green light. This is a little too narrow for me.

Other than that so far so great!

No I haven't. Have you? If so, what did you think?

If the fit came in an awd version I'd never buy another car.

The HR-V does not appeal to me. Too big for such a small engine. Family hated it. For our needs I see no benefit over a 6MT Fit. I'd rather invest in 4 winter tires instead of AWD. We are city folk and have no need for AWD, which improves acceleration but not steering or braking. I'm still struggling with the concept of CUV, and would rather the Fit hatch.

Congrats TorontoBoy! You're the 5th person around here that I know of who has received their 2016 earlier than anticipated. Enjoy!

Status update:

I just tracked down a 2015 white ex manual "unicorn" from a dealership in central california. Currently in the process of processing the pre-paperwork before making the 3 hour road trip to pick up this elusive creature.

BEST OF LUCK! I drove 5 hours to get a 2016 and it was worth the hassle (despite the horrible dealership).
