Rear toe out of spec
Rear toe out of spec
Hello,
As part of my oil leak saga the dealer had to drop my transmission. After they did an alignment and I noticed that the rear toe is 0.39 vs spec of 0.24.
As I have learned our rear toe is not adjustable. They indicated I probably hit a pot hole or otherwise which knocked it out of spec.
I'm just wondering how big of a pot hole this would have been. Of course I've hit some, but not so large that I ever thought it would have damaged the car. If your average pot hole can knock it out of alignment then over the life of the car the toe must go to hell.
What are we talking about here impact wise to knock the toe out? normal pot hole or holy shit event where you check the car when you get home?
Some of my forum searching suggests this is an issue from factory but they don't really discuss how use might contribute.

Anyways you can purchase an EZ Shim kit and make the adjustment to toe and camber as needed to get the wheel back into spec. A little toe isn't bad thus why Honda gives it a range up to .24 degrees. The closer to 0 degrees (straight ahead) you can get the better.
Check my video on my air shock mod, I wanted to see for myself the hardware I'd need to play with if I had to align the rear wheels myself. No dealer will fix the alignment for you, dont waste your time havign them try to. Some have tried and succeeded, the majority have lost this battle.
