Yay?
I was not in the CVT recall so it had to be the coil.

They need to get on it ASAP. GM tried to claim "only"13 died from their stalling. Turns out it was well over 100. Hondas are easier to control unassisted, but in a turn, with a new driver, a small one at that...who knows. The point is, they see the problems, and need to pull out all the stops to get it fixed.

Last year, I checked my vin #, and it came back no recalls. AFTER I had received 2 recall notices on the car.

Well, as of today I've received no recall notice, but my car goes in next week to have the rear axle replaced due to an alignment issue that's worn my right rear tire excessively in only 8,000 miles. Of course, there's no adjustment possible for the rear wheel alignment according to Honda, and no assurance that a replacement axle will be any better. Then, too, there's the matter of the worn tire Honda owes me.

Good luck getting anything on that! I tried on a bad tire that went out on my Fit after 2 weeks. Got not even an apology.

That makes at least two of us. The salesman at Crest Honda had the little lemon drop to me without even responding to the email I sent him.

The ladies I showed it to thought it was so cute and that I should use it on the key chain. Nope, break off it wee little mirrors. PLA plastic model enamel should have a shade close to Milano Red, tape up the windows and lights with tape and in business.

Now to email thanks to Ray.

What is the keychain thing all about? Does everyone who gets the recall receive one?

The key chain Fit is supposed to be for customers who have their 3rd Gen Fits serviced by their Honda dealer. Since my first service is months away, I emailed my salesman at Crest Honda a request (actually I all bet begged). Yesterday it showed it. All are yellow, but mine is going to receave a coat of Testor's that resembles Milano Red. My first service is months away since I put so few miles on the car.

In my case the tire wear was caused by a defective part on the part of Honda, not a defect in the tire per se. I don't expect I'll get any satisfaction either, but I'm rapidly falling out of love with this car, and I'm beginning to wish I could afford to trade it for something/anything else.

But, Uncle Gary, you always appeared to be a big Honda Fit supporter. What happened that you want to get rid of yours?

I wonder if the reason I did not get one is because I purchased our Fit in Jackson, TN., but have it serviced with Crest here in Nashville?

Contact the service manager at Crest and request one. If you cannot remember his/her name, try my salesman, Raymond Johnson via email. He's a really nice guy. raymond.johnson@cresthonda.net. My ex and her husband deal with Crest Cadillac on the opposite corner, both dealerships under the Sonic Auto Group.

I wonder if Uncle Gary's problems stem from the dealership, not American Honda.

Well, good luck, anyway.

Well, I had a Dodge that had a sprung rear axle. I bitched loud enough that they replaced the axle and tires. But then, my father was a Chrysler executive. I suspect it was his position, and not my bitching that got it fixed.

Funny thing. I checked and my Vin today, and the coil recall is on my car. I never got a notice, and I called the dealer, and they said they never heard of such a recall. Something stinks.

They were supposedly going to mail notices on the 6th so your not having one yet is not surprising.

Your dealer's response, however, is.

I checked the honda site and put in my VIN and have the CVT and plug recall. I havent gotten any notices but Im the 2nd owner so maybe thats why.

Got the CVT reprogrammed and it shifts a lot better. Not as much hunting and searching now.

My dealer "hadnt heard of the coil/plug recall" How is that possible? Honda announced it about a month ago.

They didnt have the parts and had to order them which is also a WTF. how does a MFR issue a recall and then not ensure there are parts sent to dealers.

Some dealerships, from management to sales to service to detailers are sharp and on the ball. Others are dumber than the proverbial rock. Most fall in-between.

Called mine last week. They said they never heard of the coil recall. They are, however, not too bright.
