Three wishes for a better Fit
Here's my list, although I love the car!
1 Heated seats that actually get warm, hot would be even better. Anybody with an XL have weak seat heat?
2 Pushbutton radio with 5 or 6 presets.
3 Key start. A key provides so many safety checks. Can't take keys unless car is off. Can't take keys unless car is in park. I've got it down now but the first few months coming from a manual transmission with a key were quite interesting.....

From what I hear, Honda's solution to this is to make fewer and fewer manual transmissions, eventually phasing out the manual alltogether. As they say, be careful what you wish for.
But changes that I'd like to see by MMC (2017?)
A better quality hatch interior (behind the seats) Embarrassingly flimsy.
Better gear spacing on the 6 speed (so little difference between 4th, 5th, and 6th)
An interior hatch release Cable could run parallel to the fuel tank door until the very end.
"Wink" rear view mirrors on the EX and above
Except for the mirrors, little manufacturing cost would be added.
I certainly hope not even though I probably won't buy another car. After all, I'll be 75 at the end of Nov.

hahaI agree with your insights and didn't even think of an interior hatch release. Even a handle in the rear as an escape point in an emergency (or when camping inside) would be great.
I'll have to look up wink mirrors.
I know precisely what I wished for. Better gear spacing and final ratio. That is the polar opposite of doing away with a manual altogether. Honestly, personal opinion only, I don't know how anyone could live with the auto. But I know that's not popular opinion.
I camped in my car when driving half way across the country and stopping at a few national parks along the way. I don't need one, but it's pretty ridiculous to laugh that anyone would use their car differently than you ha.
I, too, was also thinking about camping and sleeping in the back. An interior hatch release would be useful. I wonder how hard it would be to make one.
I've also pulled more than a few people out of snow banks in my truck. They were trapped because the snow held their side doors shut and they couldn't get out the back.
Other was nose first into a very deep ditch. My truck almost couldn't pull them out. Took forever.
In the winters we cruise around and bail people out for free so they don't have to pay a tow truck. Have come across some pretty close calls but luckily no ones has been too seriously hurt.
South Dakota blizzards. One guy slammed into a giant drift under a bridge. Don't know how he didn't see it but basically hit a wall. Dummy left his car running to stay warm and was breathing fumes and about to pass out when I arrived.

Since the Fit is a hatchback, it does not require an emergency release on the interior of the hatch door. So Tony Soprano would not be using on, even with a hatch cover, to transport his departed friends.
I just wish my Fit's manual transmission would work and actually shift into reverse
Either that or I wish the dealership service department would acknowledge that this is an issue and fix it, rather than insisting that it's "normal operation".
I also wish my car didn't spend 4+ weeks of my 4-5 months of ownership at the service department for a problem they didn't end up fixing.
Boo, Honda.

I like manual shifts. After about 8 years of driving automatics (circumstances beyond my control) I had to learn how to drive a 6 speed, no less. Herky-jerky for about a week.

A hybrid of the Fit's efficient layout and the Subaru Crosstrek's ground clearance and wonderful AWD system would be extremely appealing to me.
1. Navi/Satelite radio needs to display full artist and song titles. Also needs to display artist cover art and other visuals that are transmitted by Sirius/XM. Volume and tuning knobs would be nice. Radio should return to last screen displayed when car is restarted without having to press and "buttons"
2. Lumbar support for front seats.
3. A more forgiving suspension. But you get what you pay for. Got to keep in mind this is a 21K car.

What annoys you about your Gen 3 fit, now that many of you have had months to enjoy one.
For me:
1. Cabin noise from the engine is a bit annoying at say 70 mph and up.
- I actually enjoy the engine tones in some rev bands and at some speed levels, but a high highway speeds and in some situations, it seems Honda could have engineered in some better dampening for that common scenario.
Not an issue. It's not a GT so that's fine.
2. Front seat leg room
- For over 6 foot individuals there could be more play in the front seat adjustment, as the rear leg room is excellent for this car class. One more notch please.
I'm over 6' again not an issue, I fit fine.
3. Air conditioning airflow power for rear passengers
- I have no issues with the air conditioning power, but I sit in the front of the car. My family complains about the air conditioning in the rear of the car. This was my only surprise of the three, I knew about the above from my test drive. I live in interior California where extreme heat is common (summer days over 100 degrees).
I live in California and no one has complained, again not an issue.
