Are you saying that the 2017 US market fit will not be sold with a spare tire?

He must be speculating.
Each country spec is different based on customer want/needs, where U.S. customers generally do not prefer to take the sacrifice with those inflate-a-tire cans.
If you have anything other than a small leak, a can won't help.
Some models including competitors do eliminate spares due to significant weight saving and cost, which is passed down to the customer in terms of mpg and price, but there are the above mentioned sacrifices.

The Hyundai Accent I looked at buying had a styrofoam insert in the back with a can of fix a flat. If you wanted the tire tools and the spare tire put in the car it was a $300 Plus dealer installed option.

Did it have a cargo cover standard?

I think it had a flexible spring loaded cargo cover standard. The cost of the spare tire kit is now $374 . They have them on sale for $324. Some aftermarket company should make a vinyl pull out cargo cover for the Fit. They would make a fortune.

all the gauges you could possibly want. Very effective in annoying family members on long drives, if the phone is in the left cup-holder and you're the passenger. "Honey, what's the catalyst temperature and absolute engine load?" Torque is a fun way to get to know your car better. Still, a real gauge would be nice. THe Fit does remind me of our beloved 64 Impala and its "cold" light (it was green, not blue).

THe OEM tires got even noisier with wear. Now running with 205/50x16 Bridgestone Ecopias, somewhat quieter. Concrete or rough pavement is still a noise feast.

Are you out of your mind? A car that looks like a shoe, that's decades old, has amazing styling? Let me guess, you live in Colorado, right?

I'll probably go with Michelin Defenders when the time comes. This is the first time in my driving life that I couldn't wait for my tires to wear out so I could buy new ones.

The 2016 JDM model doesn't have one, so I'm guessing what I get today, you will get tomorrow.

Of course I am speculating. It would follow a trend for economy cars that are trying to attract customers looking for the best possible gas mileage.

My old fit had a spare, and my new one doesn't.

Take that with a grain of salt, but when the 2017s are rolled out, I'll be here to say "I told ya so!"

And the operative words here are "guessing" and "speculating". Another word would be "acceptance". Will the US/NA Honda buying public accept no spare tire included?

I have excessive reflection from the dash board on the windshield in my 2016 EX...was a cloudy day when I bought it but probably would not have purchased if I had been more attentive.

They make custom fit dash covers that help a good bit. I got mine for $45 shipped. That might be an option for you.

Not sure how other models and MFG's vehicles compare, but all the new aero slant-back front windows on modern cars create humongous dashes which seem to exacerbate the problem. With polarized sunglasses, I've never noticed it.

No dash reflection issue, but the map light lenses cause a wierd distortion when the rearview mirror is in night mode. The secondary refraction is disturbing.

'till I figured it out I Initially thought it might be a flaw in the rear window glass. Don't drive too much at night, but will solve the problem w/ an auto-dimming mirror (w/ compass).

I've had my new Fit for a few weeks now and there really hasn't been anything that has annoyed me to the point of regret. If anything I really love driving this car! If I have to list some minor gripes:

1. Volume for auxiliary (ie. plugging your iPhone into the USB and getting turn by turn directions from Google Maps) seems really low and I'm not sure how to boost this (if at all). If anyone has any suggestions let me know!
2. Would have been great to have an option for a key start. I'm not entirely confident that the push start version isn't going to fail somehow and then I won't be able to start my car. They have a key lock on the door as an option so why not for the ignition too?
3. For those with leather seats, it would have been nice if they carried the leather over to the door. Not a big deal but this list asked for 3 wishes.

Otherwise everything else has been fairly easy to overcome. Many complain about the noise when the car is at higher speed - I guess I have my music up so loud I don't hear this. Plus I've driven other small cars before and they all have this cabin noise issue so I don't really "hear" it because I'm use to it. It's not a luxury car, it's an econobox. The volume control issue on the EX and EX-L is solved easily by using the controls on the steering wheel. I tend to use this anyways so this was a nonissue for me. For those with A/C woes, is your econ button on? I'm in CA and when it's really hot, I switch econ off and the A/C makes the car an ice box.

As for those worried about spare tires...I think Honda might be slowing getting rid of it. My friends recently test drove a 2017 Accord Hybrid and it did not have one. They don't even have a space to put a spare if you wanted to buy one. They give you one of those tire repair kits. I'm not thrilled about this either. Have you tried bluetooth?

I use android over bluetooth and increase the volume on the phone so the audio for navigation comes over without increasing the Fit volume control over normal listening levels. Google maps will automatically decrease pandora volume and works quite well. I use a CD mount for the phone and power it from the USB port.
