Should I take my new car to service

This is about Honda Fit 2015.
I receive an email from my car dealership,
it said that I need "5,000 Mile Service."

However, I when I call them and schedule an appointment and told them about the email.
They weren't uncertain of what service my car need.
They said "my car needs oil change."

My car is just 3-4 months old.
I have 1300~ Miles.
I still have 95% oil.

Should I cancel my appointment? Am I being scam?

Yup. You're being hustled. I like to rotate my tires every 5K so did that, but did not need an oil change until about 10K. Wait for the oil change light to come on. With dealerships, it's best to be wary.

Wait for the light or at one year if your light still isn't on. I went in at 1 year because I had only 4000 miles. You can find this guidance in the manual.

Cancel the appointment.
Read your manual.
Learn all about the maintenance minder systems.
When the wrench light comes on at 15%, or when one year has passed since the last oil change (or purchase), is when it needs the oil changed.

Service reminders aren't really a scam.....but they have no clue what your car is doing. Keeping track is up to you.

Thanks everyone for answering my question.

Yeah, I read my manual as well as do some online research before asking here.

I did know that you don't need oil change until it drops below certain percentage as well as "warning light up."

But I don't know about the don't change your oil until "one year has passed since the last oil change."

I had good buying experience there, so I will give them one more chance and consider that this time is only "accident."

Thanks for helping me!

When I bought, the finance manager said she'd see me at 5K miles for my oil change. I think they all push that despite the manual. Glad to help. Enjoy.

Some of our salespeople still tell people 3000 miles.

I started placing an "oil change due at 15%" sticker on the windshield of new cars I check in.

Some dealers would tell you to come in for an oil change every week if they didn't figure it would destroy any shred of credibility they still have on the subject. I've always found it hard to imagine an oil change could be that profitable for them.

Here. The reason why they did it because they are paid by commission rather than hourly.

My car dealership told me it will be $65 for oil change over the phone.
