fit ex. no leather, no nav. dealer installed weather tech floor mats, mudguards. i am thinking about paint protection. not sure. 19,300 on sticker,19,000 because of true car.this is otd with fees. mystic yellow car. should be here in a week or so. anybody got anything to say about paint protection. thought it might help cause winter is coming. i like detailing so that is not an issue. we did not do leather and nav because it is 2000 bucks for those two items.

1. Model, any accessories
2016 EX CVT, White Orchid Pearl, no accessories.
2. Location
Little Rock, Arkansas
3. Dealer Price
$19,320
4. Selling Price (before trade, tax, title, doc, etc)
$18,863 because my salesman looked at the wrong line on the invoice. Not good for him, great for me!
5. Out the door
$18,863
+$3.00 Lein Entry Fee with no document fees
+$1,330 for 72 month 120,000 mile HondaCare
+$1,094.80 TT&L
-$1,515 Net Trade in Allowance
For a grand total of
$19,775.80 out the door.
I'd say I'm pretty happy with those numbers. The only thing I worry about is whether I really needed the HondaCare but with my luck, if I hadn't gotten it I'd already have something broken.

At $13k thats pretty amazing. But no one will know what's the truth given your variable of the trade in.

At $17k OTD (pre trade in) I think it is still a decent deal.

I can't find a LA dealer willing to go less than $18900 OTD on an LX CVT. OTD in this case means all fees, registration, and taxes.
$17,700 OTD sounds impossibly low, but I'd love to give that dealer my business! No reason to keep it a secret.

I'm seeing a lot of very new members in this thread with incredibly low prices quoted. Frankly, I'm rather skeptical.
The invoice + destination fee on a LX is $16987. Holdback is $332, so the dealer's actual cost is around $16,655.
Assume that they sold for no profit at all. States vary, but the use tax in California is 9% so that brings the price to 18153. Registration is about $250 which brings us to $18403. Various state disposal fees add another $75 to bring it to $18480.
So, if a dealer sells the car below $18480 OTD they are selling at a loss in California. This is illogical for Fits, which tend to sell within a couple of weeks of arrival. Add a reasonable $500 profit and the price comes up just short of $19,000.
So, I have to call into question those who are claiming that they bought a LX CVT for less than $18750 OTD in California. If they are claiming that, they're either the brother-in-law of a dealer or they are omitting some component of the OTD price.

I think there's a lot more leeway in pricing than you may suspect, even in an economy car. Dealer holdbacks and incentives certainly play a role. At what is often called "dealer fee" is really a fancy term for "dealer markup." I had no idea how a lot of this worked until I read a book called Car Wreck by the former head of Hyundai North America (he worked in several other brand dealerships too BTW).
I posted my info in another thread but asked for that thread to be deleted because it was a duplicate. From last week:
2016 LX/CVT, Aegean Blue, J-VIN, no options or accessories
Sticker price $17,555
Negotiated price $16,287
OTD $17,519 with all fees, taxes & registration
At first, the dealer didn't want to budge from $16,700...but having multiple internet quotes from other area dealers plus a quote from the Costco Auto Buying program saved the day. It came down to being willing to walk out of the dealership several times before we settled on a price.
I probably could have saved even more if I used the final dealership's price as a bidding point against the others. But I needed a vehicle because my '08 Sport was totaled by a red light runner and I was getting sick of being without a car in the middle of a cold Wisconsin winter.

Recently bought an ex for 21,000 out the door (bought in NJ but paid NYS tax)
