2016 Fit, Canadian base LX model. I have a "Z" shaped piece of plastic in the rear wheel well, just forward of the rear wheel, on both sides. The plastic is flexible and bolted into the frame with one bolt and one push connector. It is strong, and reinforced with ridges. What is it? What is it's purpose? I have no wheel well liners.
2016 Honda Fit, Canadian base, plastic in right rear wheel well, forward of rear tire. What is it?
it's probably an air deflector to improve mpg. most cars these days have that on the front wheel well, i too noticed this on my wife's GK's rear wheel well.
Ok, an air deflector. Then why is it not wider? Would it not deflect more air if it spanned the width of the opening? Or does it need to deflect only the air around the tire?
Thanks for the info. You know your aerodynamic bits.

My Insight has them under the front bumper at the wheel opening. Yes they help with the under car aerodynamics. Clearance... Well, you can't go driving over curbs, and most automotive lifts will scrape the snot out of them, other than that you don't notice they are there...
