Fit Sport - no trim inside rear wheel wells?

Hi - new to the forum, just got my 08 Milano Red Fit Sport and I love the car.

Question: I have the sport model with the skirt kit, and the dealer said no mudguards with that model, which the Honda web site seems to agree with. However, I'm wondering if there is something missing - inside the front wheel wells there is a black plastic liner, but inside the rear wheel wells there is not.

Shouldn't there be something standing between my Fit and mud/road salt/pebbles?

liner

There's only a liner on the front. I'm sure there's a reason but I don't know what it is.

i'm pretty sure all Hondas are like that
they all have open wheel wells in the rear
my s2000 was like that and i know older civics are like that too.

When i was about to drive off with my new fit, i did an overall inspection, and I was surprised by that fact too. So before i got off the lot i ran around and looked at all the fits - including the show one in the show room, and they are all the same. Some of the higher end cars are the same way, but they usually put some more insulation or a sound dampening layer that is black/dark in color (unlike the fit).

But yeah it's normal.

my 2004 "value package" Cavalier (no options, bare bones, absolute minimum didn't even have ABS and sold for $9,999 brand new) even came with rear wheel well liners

It's probably just a splash sheild to protect the engine and all of that good stuff from water, mud, and all the other goodies that can find there way into the bay...
