2015 Fit LX blindspot?

I am consistently having trouble seeing cars on my right hand side in my Fit LX. I don't know if it's me or if it's the wide pillar in the back, but my rear and side view mirrors seem to be missing vehicles on my right hand side. I have two other cars, and I never have troubles with seeing cars behind me on my right hand side. Anybody have a similar experience? I'm not exactly thrilled that it's happening to me.

i'd aim your passenger side mirror outwards more. you probably have it set up where you see part of your quarter panel, or barely see the quarter panel.

Okay, I adjusted the mirror. Will see how it goes. Thinking of adding one of those little magnifying discs to the right side window. Thanks for the help.

I've got the LX too. With your newly adjusted mirrors you should be fine. No more blind spots, so no need for fancy lane watch!

I'm already in the next lane by the time it turns on.

You DO know you can turn it on anytime by pushing in the button on the end of the turn signal stalk, right?

Also, you're supposed to signal BEFORE you change lanes or turn.

Yes, but my eyes and side mirrors work just fine without needing to push a button first.

I signal as I go. People that signal waiting for permission to change lanes are annoying. Also, making a right turn I have zero need to see the sidewalk.

Generally speaking, when possible, I also wait to use the signal until after I've decided the way is clear, then turn on the signal to indicate my move is on purpose. Rarely, do I need to signal to ask permission (by signaling first), and then typically from my lack of advance planning.

So, to use lanewatch requires either having it on full time or pushing the button in on the stalk, neither of which is something I've grown to use.

I trust my view out the right and mirrors as habit but I may try turning it on full time the next time I'm in heavy traffic and see how I like it.

It's great for keeping an eye on the bike lane, esp. in heavy traffic.

It seems to me that the point of the turn signal is to inform other drivers what you are about to do so that they can behave accordingly. It's useless to indicate that you actually intended to do what you just did; I mean, if they're about to crash into you, it hardly matters if you changed lanes intentionally or unintentionally, the response and possible result is identical.

At least if you're ever in my general vicinity, please kindly consider keeping me and others abreast of your intentions by signaling them beforehand. Thank you.

I think that is what I wrote?? I check, signal, then change lanes. I was only making a comment that there are times when I have to signal to 'ask' for space, say for being in the wrong lane for an upcoming freeway onramp. Sorry I wasn't very clear on that!

I have way more trouble with the left hand side A pillar (left hand drive). I almost hit a pedestrian in a cross walk last weekend cause I never saw her...Her scream alerted me..

Upon rereading what you wrote, I can see how it could be taken either way. My apologies for misunderstanding, and thank you for making your intentions known to your fellow drivers.

I can't begin to count the number of times I've written something that is perfectly clear to me but not at all so to other people.

I drove a fair ways over the holiday, visiting family out of state, and witnessed plenty of shenanigans that left me rather gobsmacked. One crazy person zipped around me in the breakdown lane of the interstate while I was driving with the flow of traffic in the righthand lane at around the speed limit. It's a bit startling to have a car suddenly appear there, buzzing on the rumble strip. (This wasn't a case of a missed merge or anything like that, just someone in a tremendous hurry.)

Still having some discomfort with the right side mirror. It's like I have to go through a two step process when I look to my right side. First in the Fit, by habit, I look out the rear window (my Mustang rear window is so broad, I can see everything). Then, to be really safe, I have to look at the side view mirror and pray a little bit when I do. That rear pillar is still really wide on each side. It's just not fun or easy looking to my right side. I'm trying my best to adapt to it, but -truly- it ain't easy. I wish it were. This is only an observation/comment.

I adjust both my mirrors until I can no longer see the side of my car. Then I inch it outward just a little bit more after that. I do this on all my cars. I never have a problem with blind spots. Ever! You can try that out.

Good luck!
