2017 Fit refresh?

I also wonder. Apparently, from these articles, there will be a refresh for the 2017 model. According to these, engines will stay the same, but the front grille and headlights, as well as the bumpers and rear spoiler will receive touch-ups. Does anyone have further clues? Will it still be considered GK if it's only a refresh?
Some of these articles seem to be written by a non-native English writer, so not sure if these apply to the US model.

its natural for a MMC (Mid Model Change). The JDM version is nearing 3 years since it was first introduced in 2014. The US did not get the Fit until 2015 so we may not get a MMC until 2018. Also don't count on the the bumpers and spoilers to be the same changes as the JDM one.

2015 was a Full Model Change or FMC. These are typically more or less complete redesigns.

Sounds about right. Grille, headlights, bumpers and spoilers is pretty typical for a Honda Mid Model Change. These are typically just styling refreshes to help maintain sales momentum until the FMC model arrives. MMC powertrain changes much more rare, historically. But with CAFE and all, the 1.0T *might* make it into a Fit MMC. A 1.5T Fit would seem highly unlikely to me, either for the MMC or the next FMC.

It's definitely possible but I wouldn't go by any of the pictures in those links. Actually, that third link is just a current gen Fit with Mugen parts, so it definitely won't look like that.

I know Honda overhauled the last gen civic pretty heavily (for a "refresh"), but that's because that car in its original form was quite mediocre, so they had to bring it up to par with competition. The Fit already looks great, has a powerful enough powertrain, nice enough interior, etc, that I don't think the refresh will be very drastic.

2015 was a new model hence the new chassis code of GK from GE. It'll still be considered a GK after the refresh imo.

My guess is 2018 model maybe released late summer/fall 2017. Pretty sure Honda will want to get smaller displacement turbo engine installed to enhance MPGs yet make it accelerate a little better to displace the competition. Doubt they can get the engine manufacturing plants going full steam until then.

Based on past experience, "refresh" styling is seldom in improvement over the original styling IMO. It generally amounts to "change for the sake of change" and seldom looks "better", just "different".

Just my own opinion, of course.

... If Honda is bringing the RS trim to the states, will also have Sunset Orange II as an option, AND still be bringing them in from Japan then I WILL LIKELY sell my CR-Z in a HEARTBEAT for one!

Honda fit Third generation was released in 2014 so according to historical honda data the mid refresh will be due 2017 or 4 years after their lunch, it will be more about aestetics changes. If you see japan fit they have led headlights, HUD and crash prevention system. In the latest IIHS honda fit is not even in the top safety pick making it due to prevention system. So it might get it(i think). Other small changes but same engine.
So if you want to see a new fit it will come until 2019-2020.

Honda tends to keep each generation about 4-5 years with a midlife refresh in-between. If history repeats itself, we'll probably get a slight refresh for 2017 or 2018. Since the reviews and feedback on the Fit have been good, it'll probably just be cosmetic. I'd imagine they may change the grill to resemble the Civic and Accord. But it'll be all solely front fascia changes and maybe some interior trim updates

Look at this video it has a lot of new features and it has a nice explanation. at least there i some thing that i would like and it does not have like the passanger front cup holder the headlight(i think we can order it from japan but i do not know form where(For Honda Fit Jazz LED Tail Lamp hatchback 14-UP Red Color LH, View For FitJazz LED Tail light, OEM Product Details from Guangzhou Liyuan Automobile Center Yonghong Automobile Accessories Trading Firm on Alibaba.com))
There is a link with some prducts tho. The other thinks like the nice dasboard or the touch climate sensor Im not that crazy over them. Other models like the fit rs from japan have HUD, and front crash prevention system.

In Japan, buyers are willing to spring for upgrades like that because the Fit is most likely the only car a family owns. Here in the states, the Fit is generally purchased as a 2nd or even 3rd car, a grocery getter, commuter car or something like that, so Honda has to keep the price down. As it is, a Fit EX is getting close in price to a Civic, and, as all of us in the states know "bigger is always better".

Well, WE know better, but then, we drive Fits, right?

Since the 2016 Civic 1.5 turbo engine is the same as the 1.5 Fit engine w/o the turbo, why not a Fit Si with the Civic turbo engine in the MMC 2017? Along with a re-geared manual and limited slip. Better than the overdressed and underpowered EXL.

That would be a hoot, but given low gas prices and consequential lackluster small car sales, I'm not holding my breath for a Fit Si.

Sales of small cars in general have stalled in the US. Toyota has discontinued the Scion brand. Yesterday Fiat/Chrysler announced they're discontinuing the Dodge Dart and the Chrysler 200. Fit sales have been sluggish, at best, so I figure we'll be lucky to see a '17 or '18 Fit at all here.

The only class of car that seems to be selling (at least around here) is the crossover SUV.
