Misfire is back

Rained for the first time in months here, so humidity is high. Well, by Phoenix standards. Got to the corner, left on a green and the old misfire is back. First and second gear on take off and shift . Happened all the way to work. Car was in the garage, so never it wet. Just high humidity. Anybody else?

Very rainy, high humidity, even for Nashville in March and April. Temperatures bouncing from mid-30s to mid-80s. Not a single misfire, backfire except when feet (one biological, one by DuPont) fail to coordinate. Fit exposed to weather in the apartment parking lot ... oh, a wind gusts up to 40 mph at least once a week.

2015 Fit EX 6 speed.

Mine has been outside in every combination of wet, cold, hot, dry, damp, humid you can imagine. Yesterday car sat outside in pouring down rain all day. Never a misfire.

Just a wild guess, but do you have a '15, and if you do, wasn't there a coilpack recall on the 15's? That would certainly be a possible cause of misfire.

Your coilpack could have been marginal up to that point, and then higher humidity kicks in > more resistance on an already faulty coil > misfire.

Do you buy your gas from the same station? There might be some impurities in the gas, like water. Gas stations have huge underground tanks. Over the years increased amounts of impurities settle to the bottom of the tank. When the gas level gets low enough you can pump this into your tank. When the gas truck fills up the gas station the bad gas at the bottom gets sturred up. Try changing your gas station the next fillup.

I have a 15, and the recall was done. Didn't solve the problem, and Honda told the dealer to adjust the valves. That worked, till this morning.

Sorry for your issue, but I can report never any misfires for my 2015 EX in hot and humid (and rainy) Florida.

I had the coilpack recall done as well, but recently my idle has been kind of rough

Just got off the phone with the dealer. Apparently there can be a lot of corrosion through the ignition system. They are going to take it in on Tuesday, and keep it however long it takes to get it fixed. FYI, mine was one of the first made, and held at the Mexican plant while they got the quality problems straightened out with the first batch. Made in April, not delivered to the dealer till July.

10-4 on that. I was going to say that few places were hotter/more humid in the US than Nashville in Aug. except New Orleans and Ft. Myers, FL (sister's home).

Mine was also made in April 2014 and delivered the end of June. VIN 46XX.

Got it back after 3 days at the dealer. Couldn't find the problem. Not surprised, since it was intermittent. They did say that these engines are very touchy with what gas you use because of the injectors. Anyway, will see what happens.

Assuming how close our cars were made together it's weird how you have so many issues and mine has none. Wish you better times like all my time with this beauty.

If any dealer told me gas was the issue I'd tell them to prove it by doing a lab test on it.. They fall on this crutch for everything.

1 easy way to eliminate the whole argument, add a aircraft fuel filter and water separator to the fuel line before the injection rail. If its in the gas that filter will stop it.. and you'd see any water in the separator..

Top tier is a marketing gimmick. Fuel standards are not enforced at the federal level and most states don't test fuel quality only that the pumps are accurate. The individual tank at the station has more affect than almost any other variable.

True, but with intermittent problems, and 3 days of researching, I am sure they had nothing else to come up with. They said if it throws a code, they can go on something. Just wait and see is all I can do, other than dump the car and take a big hit.
