Misfire is back
Misfire is back
Rained for the first time in months here, so humidity is high. Well, by Phoenix standards. Got to the corner, left on a green and the old misfire is back. First and second gear on take off and shift . Happened all the way to work. Car was in the garage, so never it wet. Just high humidity. Anybody else?

2015 Fit EX 6 speed.
Just a wild guess, but do you have a '15, and if you do, wasn't there a coilpack recall on the 15's? That would certainly be a possible cause of misfire.
Your coilpack could have been marginal up to that point, and then higher humidity kicks in > more resistance on an already faulty coil > misfire.

Do you buy your gas from the same station? There might be some impurities in the gas, like water. Gas stations have huge underground tanks. Over the years increased amounts of impurities settle to the bottom of the tank. When the gas level gets low enough you can pump this into your tank. When the gas truck fills up the gas station the bad gas at the bottom gets sturred up. Try changing your gas station the next fillup.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. Apparently there can be a lot of corrosion through the ignition system. They are going to take it in on Tuesday, and keep it however long it takes to get it fixed. FYI, mine was one of the first made, and held at the Mexican plant while they got the quality problems straightened out with the first batch. Made in April, not delivered to the dealer till July.
10-4 on that. I was going to say that few places were hotter/more humid in the US than Nashville in Aug. except New Orleans and Ft. Myers, FL (sister's home).

Got it back after 3 days at the dealer. Couldn't find the problem. Not surprised, since it was intermittent. They did say that these engines are very touchy with what gas you use because of the injectors. Anyway, will see what happens.
Assuming how close our cars were made together it's weird how you have so many issues and mine has none. Wish you better times like all my time with this beauty.
Just luck of the draw. Good that yours is doing well
1 easy way to eliminate the whole argument, add a aircraft fuel filter and water separator to the fuel line before the injection rail. If its in the gas that filter will stop it.. and you'd see any water in the separator..
Top tier is a marketing gimmick. Fuel standards are not enforced at the federal level and most states don't test fuel quality only that the pumps are accurate. The individual tank at the station has more affect than almost any other variable.
If any dealer told me gas was the issue I'd tell them to prove it by doing a lab test on it.. They fall on this crutch for everything.
