Trailor hitch for new IX

Where is the best deal on a hitch for my 2016 LX. I am going to buy a small 3.5x5 trailor from lowes for hauling trash and other light duty use. Talked to Honda dealer and was told the fit would be fine hauling light duty.

search for BassGuitarist1985, or he'll be along sometime. He has a 8' trailer and air shocks on his 2015 Fit!

OP, which transmission do you have?

IIRC, the manual does state that a trailer is not recommended for CVT.

Actually a trailor is not reccomended for Manual or cvt. But a small trailor with a few hundred lb. weight is no harder on the CVT. Than hauling a full load of 200 pound guys. You just have to understand it has limitations. That's what my dealership told me.

The Fit can tow, contrary to popular belief and what the owners manual says. I agree with the dealer though that you need to understand the car's limitations. For the trailer size you are discussing that should be more than fine. I prefer a manual over the CVT. The CVT I personally think is weaker than the manual when it comes to towing.

Based on your trailer preference I believe it has 12" tires. If you plan on long haul trips. you can remove the fenders to put on larger tires, like say 15's or 16's. I have 15" radials on mine. If its local bop around town trips then the 12"s will be fine.
