Smart entry system indicator

I purchased a 2015 Fit that was a salvage. It had been hit in the rear hatch. The hatch was replaced with a used hatch of the same color. The Smart entry system indicator light was on when I bought it and I only have one fob. The car has the push button start and is a manual. I changed the battery in my fob but the light is still on. What is my next step to diagnose this? The car locking and starting works fine. Is it something that could have been caused from the replaced rear hatch?

Thank you all
Jim

Was the hatch replaced with one lacking smart entry?

All these recent salvage title posts with shoddy workmanship give me pause about wanting to ever consider them in the future.

The hatch should unlock when you pull on the hatch handle (assuming you have your smart key). That is the normal behavior.

The hatch does not open when it is locked and I have the FOB. If I push the unlock on the fob it will unlock. I guess this is the issue. So is this something I can order and add to the hatch? Is it wired in or a sensor like the TPMS sensors in the wheels? Possible to get one from a different car and install the reprogram? Any idea of the cost of a new one? Where in the hatch would it locate?
Thank you so much for the help. Other than this the car is in excellent shape. Especially for the price I paid.

Sorry, not sure what that's all about, you need to do a deep dive to find your answer I guess ... at Honda Parts Network you can see the part but it might need to be programmed.

Thank you I am guessing it is #7. I will look and see how difficult it is to replace. And call the dealer and see how much to activate it or if it needs to be.
