Thanks I appreciate that. I was only going about 70mph I guess one of the screws got loose and it lifted up from the drivers side corner. I was trying to find somewhere to exit and it went bye bye. So I said screw it and kept driving.

If you are on 3/36 warranty, see if Honda will replace it.

That would be my first stop for sure.
Out of curiosity when and where was your car built?

Never had an accident and never replaced the windshield. Screw just got loose it started flapping and I was on a stretch of road I couldn't exit and wind tore it off completely

You can still file a claim with Honda. This is a safety issue and you might get a good outcome from them, but only if you try. The fact that the windshield was never replaced and there hasn't been any accident to cause such a flyoff work in your favor here.

I would go to the dealer anyway, even at 40K.

I've taken my truck to the dealership (which isn't were I bought the truck), but they've honored my warranty claims. even agents fudge numbers to get my repairs/replacements covered. I'm pretty sure Honda ppl would do the same. They want to keep you as a customer.

OUCH... agree with others that you should at least give Honda a chance to say 'no' first and if they do say no, ask kindly if they'll repair it under good will. Have a 2008 Civic they just replaced both visors way outside even their extended warranty under good will. If you still want to proceed with a self fix the parts are available, but pricey. You'll need 74147-T5A-000, List $121.48 and 74198-T5R-A00, List $49.78. That would be a minimum. You may have sacrificed your washer nozzles and hoses and that would be extra.

First go to a dealer, ask if they (Honda) will cover replacement.

If they say no, be nice but document everything. (Names dates etc) Tell them you intend to call Honda (and mention the safety aspect)

Call Honda Customer Service (Phone in the owners manual or online at the Honda Owner Link). Again, be nice, don't get belligerent.

If they still balk, ask to speak to a supervisor.

Good Luck.

I would totally agree you should go to the dealer and either they or Honda should replace this, it is TOTALLY unacceptable, and VERY possibly a safety issue for you and others. Be very nice and start writing letters. I bet you get this fixed for free, and i think you deserve to!
I did a quick check of mine. looks like two screws and i assume numerous clips, looks solid to me?
