Smart key low battery warning

I just hit 16k miles and I bought my car in June 2014, so I just passed 2 years.

Got in my car this morning, started it up, and looked down when I got a different "ding" after starting. Saw this...

The warning kept flashing 100% of the time while I was driving and I got the "ding" every time I started it.

I had an appointment a block away from my Honda dealer so I stopped by there and they sold me a new battery and put it in for $11. I know I could've found it myself and saved $10 but I didn't feel like dealing with it and I was right there.

Nice that the car alerts you though....

EDIT: Come to think of it, yesterday afternoon when I left work, when I grabbed the door handle to unlock, I only got 1 beep during unlock instead of the normal double-beep... I wonder if maybe that was a pre-warning. I didn't think anything more of it after that and I just made the connection now.

Yep, the $17 I paid for my 2 fobs is in the $112 2 year total maintenance cost (along with the $13 for wipers).
