Loud climate vent/zone changeover?
Hey all,
I was working on the ol' Fit (2015 EX) this weekend and tonight when I took it out for a spin I had to switch on the defroster as it was raining and the windshield was getting a little foggy.
I noticed a loud popping (vents opening and closing) when I was switching back and forth between the vents, floor, and defrost.
Nothing I did while I was working on it this weekend should have affected that system at all.
Has anyone experienced this? I'm asking because I haven't noticed it before. Admittedly the Fit's zone selection does feel plastic-y, but it's not a luxury car by any means so I expect that... but the popping is really loud (louder than I've noticed before).
If you have come across this what was the cause and could you fix it?
Thanks is advance!

The mechanical nature of both the round selector and recirc/fresh selector that is moving levers and baffles in the dash does seem to make a bit of noise/volume on my 2015 EX. I also recall reading a review making comments about the same a year or two ago as well. I'm thinking it is normal.

If the fan is on high, the noise is (or at least may be) louder as the air pressure pushes the flaps around some. Assuming they work properly in directing the air where you want, I also suspect it's normal. I haven't heard of many problems with them breaking; the system seems pretty robust.

If ya rotate knobs/slide fresh-recirculate knobs/lever gently, it's pretty quiet in my '15 LX ....if you twist very quickly or slap the fresh/recirc switch, yeah, it makes some noise....nothing abnormal, not objectionable, unless you've come to the Fit from a luxo-barge background.
