2015 EX with VTC actuator rattle
I have the above mentioned problem for almost two years now, haven't gone to the dealer to have it fixed. So far I haven't observed any I'll effect other than the annoying sound. If I don't have it fixed, will it cause future problems? I am just weary it will create more problems if they do another fix on my fit.

From other posts on here about it, Honda claims it will have no ill effect, which sounds dodgy to me....the sound is awful - has only happened to mine 4x in the year since we bought our '15 LX CPO. We gotsta hope for the best, I guess...

Yup....and mine seems totally random...I mean, only happened to mine 4x over the cold months, but...one day it'll do it (I work 7p to 7a with the car parked outside at work), and the next morning it can be the same temp or colder and not do it....I feel it's cold-related, but can't say definitively, just that it's never happened in moderate/warm/hot temps to me....it sounds awful, though, I thought I'd tried to start the car after it was already started, sounds like starter grind on a running engine...sucks

Have 54000 on ours, no complaints ......just the very very occasional VTC rattle...I wanna put better tires on it but previous owner had put new tires on it before trading in and I'm too cheap to not wear these out first. 😁

My US LX GK has this
Have noticed this VTC rattle briefly at cold start for the past year. Thought is was due to the Canadian winter season as this never happened back in the islands.
During my last visit (new tire install) at the dealer they kept it overnight hoping to duplicate the problem. Thankfully it happened and it's in today to have the timing chain and VTC replaced, under warranty, of course!!!!
My previous GD with over 150k, never had a single engine issue. It a bit of a let down but for now my GK's average mileage of 35.8 mpg is surpasing my GD's 25 mpg.
With only 24k lets see how long this fix will last!!!
