My Fit LX came without floor mats because frankly I wasn't prepared to pay an extra $200 for floor mats from my dealer.
The best price I've been able to find online for floor mats that actually purport to be custom-sized for the '16 Fit is about $89.
Is there anywhere I can get properly-sized mats cheaper? It seems ridiculous that I should have to pay a hundred bucks for what looks like five bucks worth of actual carpeting.
I got these 3D MAXpider floormats. They're carpet, waterproof, and look fantastic. They offer the same protection as the rubber floor mats. I can take them out and hose them off if they get muddy. they don't slip. Front and back for $122
What kind of floor mats, for which purpose? For which areas? Are you looking for something along the carpet lines or do you need something for melting, salty slush in winter? I get the impression most people want some kind of serious floor protection even if they are not in a snowy area but deal with mud or sand. There are many discussions on this site and others about this but basically you are then looking at costly but worth it Husky or WeatherTech mats. As for which brand there don't seem to be any big differences. I guess some seem to find the WeatherTech's perhaps don't slip as much though the degree to which either slip is small. The WTs are a bit more expensive but you are amortizing the cost of either over the lifetime of the car. With that in mind I ordered a complete set, front, middle, and back. For the back you can also try doing it yourself with rubber mats or indoor/outoor carpeting, though the commercial mats have more of a lip in case of liquid spills.

The carpeted kind that come with most cars have always been enough for me. I don't foresee having a use for the WeatherTech-type mats as I don't take my Fit into snowy or slushy areas at all.
Sounds like I'm gonna have to cough up $100 for these things! jeez!
Maxpider and some other floormat options in photos
In this flickr dot com album: gp/farsightful/0097DS some photos from my ongoing search for the perfect mats. I put in stock Honda carpet mats, but the driver side mat wore through in less than 9400 miles. Okay obviously that's where the edge of my shoe rests but still. Maxpider 3D fronts ($71.25 free shipping at Amazon; often $86 there) came today. Not very carpet-y at all but great coverage up the sides including the dead pedal. They look good, but barefoot passenger will notice the lack of plush. The highly reflective 3D badge comes off easily with a pair of pliers. Might be best compromise if you want the coverage but don't like the 63 pickup truck look of rubber mats.

Hey Doop, I have a set of carpet mats from a 2017 that I don't need. They were only used while the car was being driven from one dealership to another. PM me if you're interested.
I just realized that this was ressurected from a month ago, so posting this might be moot. But, we've come too far already!

The rubber or the classic? Which should we go. They are about same price.
