my friend has a Honda fit lx 2016, the check engine went on, the dealer told him "air /fuel imbalance in the catalytic converter" lucky that the car still under warranty
the car has 29200 miles on it.
any one had this problem before ? and knows how to prevent that on other cars ?

 

Speculation is useless without the specific codes....

But yes, it's a warranty issue. Bring it in and report what went wrong and how the dealer resolved the issue.

Surprised you even stick with the brand, given the problems that seem to gravitate directly or indirectly your way.

No, I would say failure of the Catalytic Converter on a 2016 Honda Fit with less than 30,000 miles is NOT a common failure.

Much like the defect/ failure of the axle in your previous thread is also not a common issue.

 

Yes had the same problem at 42k. Also brakes went bad 5 times as well as AC motor. Sued Honda over brake issue. Got 10k settlment. Have Fit 2016 LX. Looking into what could be done about the emissions problems I am having with cc.

 

The emissions issue is covered under warranty from what I was told according to Honda corporate . They actually brought it to my attention when I was getting my VTC actuator fixed by my local dealership
