Real benefit to IOS cable kit?

I was hoping I could plug my phone into the system and have Waze displayed on the HU. From reading more on the site, it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

What features do you use with your iPhone and the cable kit that you cannot get with a direct USB or blue-tooth connection?

Thanks,
Steve

i dont know if this is common knowledge, but if you have the kit, go to hdmi audio and it'll mirror any app... that combined with the vsp disable lets you have waze while you drive. have to use the phone for inputs, but its good enough...

There are also the Honda apps, which are "adequate" at best. I use the nav app, and it gets me where I intended, just with few frills.

Doing that lengthy process every time would make me not want to turn the car off!
