My New Cheap Fit-Fitted Cargo Tray

Instead of spending upwards of a hundred bucks for an OEM or "custom" aftermarket cargo tray, I took a chance on a $22.99 Chinese knockoff on ebay.

It took literally weeks to get here, and arrived all folded up in a pillow-shaped bundle. I have it laid out now to "relax" and flatten out. Haven't checked the fit in my Fit yet, but based on the ebay reviews, other Fit owners seem to be happy with it for the price.

I absolutely love my 3D MAXpider Kagu Floor Mats, but couldn't see spending that kind of money on a cargo tray that doesn't get the constant dirty foot traffic that the floors get. So this should be fine for keeping the carpet new back there and catching any spills or debris. Once it flattens out, that is.

Stack books on the cargo tray to flatten it more quickly.

Also put it out in the sun, maybe on a blacktop driveway. The heat will help flatten it out and bounce back.

I have something similar. The smell, eventually, goes away. And it will flatten out on it's own.

I purchased the exact same tray from the same auction at the same price... but mine was literally on the slow boat from China as I almost gave up on it ever arriving (actually I think the delay was due to the winter storms).

Have faith in it flattening out. Mine fits great in the back of my car. I never noticed the smell. The only issue you may have with it is the surface is a bit slippery, so if you have something plastic back there it may have a tendency to slide around.

I'm with you though... definitely a great protector for only $23!

I use a couple of those cheap airlines blankets they offer for international flights. Works great. I use them to pad the edge of the hatch when careless friends put their luggages back there. Instead of buying an OEM hatch hiding cover, I use them to cover stuffs as well.

Hmm...
Slow delivery.
Arrives folded.
Hard to flaten out.
Reported smell that "eventually" diminishes.
"A bit slippery".

I think you could do better just going to Home Depot and constructing your own.

I have a cheap rubber/plastic floor thing from The Home Depot that is kinda patterend like a manhole cover, or something....read about it on a thread here right after I bought my fit....bought 2 so I can use the 2nd when seats are down (and cut it in two in case only one seat goes down) .... The "fabric" they use in the hatch area is cheaper than cheap....and the factory "carpeting" is little better, but...am OK with that, it's a great little car for the $$$

It's flat now. Fits perfectly. Never smelled. I'm happy with the purchase.

guess u get wat u pay for huh?

but glad to hear it all worked out. i usually toss those all weather liners in da basement because my cargo slips around too much on it. i use a smaller tray (even a plastic box lid) and keep my dirty boots and stuff in dat when i need it, held down by trunk organizers dat dont slip around on carpet.

I lay an old towel in the bottom of the factory tray to keep things from sliding around.
