Enable Locking Beep?
It's right behind the hatch release.
andI'm so sorry. This totally slipped my mind.
Hey, new member here -- I followed a Google search to this thread, and it saved me further hassle and runaround.
I recently had a front-end accident with my 2015 Honda Fit EX.
The body shop, in the process of repairing everything, had left that little connector disconnected.
The horn still worked, ditto the panic button. The "beep" is obviously related to the horn. I couldn't find anything in the manual to help solve this.
I'd still be frustrated and looking if not for your posting, and ESPECIALLY for the photos. I popped the hood, and there was that disconnected connector.
MANY thanks.
BTW, a repair guy at the Honda dealer where I bought the car seemed to think this was fixable via the "Settings" display on the dashboard.
I tried, but nope, sorry, friend.
Such an easy fix!
I'm now a fan of this forum. Thanks again.

You are Awesome for this picture!! I have been trying to figure out why my civic won't beep at me! I did the whole lock/unlock button and no go! Looking at this connector when I get home!
Thanks!!
Mine doing the same thing. Light just flash once and no beep at all. Found the hood sensor but where i start for troubleshooting? Disconnect that black yellow cable and reconnect? tried but is too tight to start with.
tried, but it only flash when second press.
I joined this forum just to say this for this thread alone:
I dont have a Honda Fit, I have a 2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L. I took it in about 2 months ago to get some major ac repairs done (had to replace the entire system due to a restriction and system failure). Afterwards, it never beeped. I didn't notice until just today because I rarely drive the car because I'm away from work for 3 weeks a month. My girlfriend told me that's been happening for a while now, so this morning I decided to look into it:
- I made sure all the settings on the vehicle were correct.
- I checked the battery - perfect.
- Replaced fob batteries, just in case.
- Found a bunch of posts where people said it was their hood. Went out and made sure to really shut the hood - no luck
- Found a guy saying it was his driver door lock mechanism, which is a tsb for our vehicles. Mine wasn't having the issue, and it locked and closed and registered as locked and closed.
Then I found this. I thought, there's no way this is what it is, that's too easy and my horn WORKS (I know cause I accidentally hit it yesterday while cleaning the inside of the car) and why would they disconnect that, they never had the front end off? Apparently I was wrong!
Sure enough - THIS FIXED IT. I went out and immediately saw an unclipped connector just hanging out. Plugged it in and my beep is back, along with my sanity!
Cannot thank you enough for this, if I ever see posts about this I'm going to send this thread at every chance.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

id10t error for me.
Thank you for mentioning the hood. I had tires serviced and got a free battery check up. My hood has beenGeneric Allegra ajar for 2 days as I checked the doors and hatch repeatedly. I kinda knew the beep confirmed "car secure" with the 2nd press of lock on the remote, but since there is no electric lock mechanism on the hood... I didn't check it.
All is good with the hood properly latched.
