Long Term Quality Index
I ran into this in a C&D article about buying used cars, and I thought it would be fun to share it here.
Mind the sample size is only 1600 or about 1% (SWAG) of total production over the period, but the numbers are very good.
Honda Fit Reliability - Dashboard Light
It's fun to look at other makes and models too.

cool info, op. but is that really for the GK or does it include GD and GE's? i mean i saw like a toyota tercel in there and i dont know much about toyota's but didn those go extinct like a decade or 2 ago...? thought it was replaced by that fugly echo or watever.
another problem with lower end cars is the people that buys them.
they dont have much money to start with so they look at a economy $20K car as a $20K purchase relative to wat they buy on a daily basis (as in huge money spent) so they expect every little thing to be perfect.
car guys know one can't expect a perfect car at any price.. but they dont understand or accept that and keep going back to the dealer for the smallest BS things to fix.

It's definitely an opinion kenchan, but it's a good story that appeals to our sense of threading. It may very well be true, but we don't have the data to verify; generalizations like that are rarely if ever going to be fact... just good stories/hypotheses.
But with regards to the OP.. great news! It sounds like we all made a good decision.

This is my opinion.
But I've seen threads where people will complain about some defect or flaw they discover with their Honda Fit.
This will sometimes be dispatched by someone proclaiming the The Honda Fit is Honda's entry level, sub-compact, their "cheapest" by price vehicle. So what do you expect?
Listen, I know what I bought I bought it because I wanted it, and liked it. Yes, The Fit is not given the best spot on the showroom floor. Honda would probably much more like to sell you a Civic or Accord.
But in comparison to other sub-compact hatchbacks? You pay a "Honda" premium. I could buy a Hyundai or Nissan Versa, and from the outside, it may look a lot like The Fit. But I expect better quality from The Fit. And I think that is real.
Which means, I'm not going to complain too much about the stubble fuzz poor excuse for carpeting. But I will complain about other things I find or discover that are wrong. Because my expectations are that The Fit be one of the best build hatchback you can buy.
The playing floor also has evened. Today's Honda Fit can be purchased with nearly all the bells and whistles possible on nearly any model of Honda. They are no longer sold as stripped down econo-boxes. The playing floor throughout the entire industry has evened.
Am I the most wealthy automotive purchaser? No. But IMO even though it is an entry level price, $20,000 is a lot of money to most people.
Therefore, while I'm not expecting perfection. Quietest interior, smoothest ride. If something breaks while under warranty, and it is not a normal wear item? Sure, I'm taking it in to be fixed. And I'm complaining if the failure is premature.
I don't expect any Honda to be cheap in terms of quality. Even if I don't expect my Honda Fit to have the deepest carpeting, the plushest seats, or soft touch on all surfaces.
