Brand new GK, A/C temp select knob
Brand new GK, A/C temp select knob
I just bought my second fit, a new GK. After driving it for 4 days now i have realized that the air-conditioning temperature knob will not go left to select the lowest three "cold" settings. i know it cable controlled and it sound like the cable is getting caught on something under the dash?? anyone have this issue? or know where that cable gets routed? Thanks

And before you take it back make sure you thoroughly check out everything else - all the bulbs, wipers, and controls, everything. If there's anything else wrong you want to make sure you get it fixed at the same time and not discover something else a week later and have to go back for a second appointment.
yah, there was another member that had the same problem recently. he linked a vid of another honda vehicle HRV (?) with the same problem. have the dealer fix it... and +1 to what woof posted above.
check everything before you head back.

I had the same problem. Sometimes it didn't go all the way counterclockwise, sometimes it did. You can easily see the cable if you remove the glovebox. On mine it seemed to be connected properly, to the thing that it controlled, and it did not seem to be snagged by anything, anywhere. In any case, if I recall correctly, the thing that it controlled seem to go all the way to the end, so I didn't think there would be an issue with the AC not functioning at maximum cool, even if the knob didn't go all the way. I decided that telling the dealer about it would probably result in their spending a lot of time with it, and eventually making it worse. The AC seemed to worked at maximum, so I decided the hell with it. The knob did sometimes refuse to turn all the way counter clockwize, and then after a bump, did go all the way counter clockwize, and then go back to refusing to go all the way. Also, sometimes it hit the bump and did not go further, but it felt as if the cable was being stretched. Other times it worked smoothly and properly. After awhile it "fixed itself." Has been working correctly for over 1 1/2 years now! I still haven't figured out what the problem had been. Maybe the cable just streched after use? I don't think so. If that were the case, I think I would have felt the knob gradually reach a little bit further counterclockwize, day by day. That's not what happened. Sometimes it would be 1 1/2 green bar short of all the way, sometimes it would easily go all the way.
