Double Size Futon Frame: Not quite...
I finally found something that our Tardis-like cars could not haul: a double sized futon frame, 6' long, 35" wide, about 20" deep. The rear seats were down, front seats as far forward as possible, but the frame was still too wide. I had to drive with the hatch up, very slowly, as the bed was about 1' too long. Thankfully it was only around the block of my neighbourhood.
2016 Honda Fit hauling a double size futon frame, 6' long 35" wide, 20" deep. Hatch could not close.
I might have under-estimated the size of this futon frame before I tried to stuff it into the 2016 Honda Fit.

Kind of refreshing to see a post of "This Didn't Fit" inside my Fit.
The much more popular and common picture is a Fit stuffed with "stuff"...and the amazed exclamation that it would fit.
For a compact vehicle...I think technically a sub-compact...The Fit is amazingly versatile and can be configured to hold a LOT of stuff.
BUT...
In the end? It is a sub-compact..and space is space. There has to be a point where...it just doesn't fit..does happen. I'm routinely more amazed at what can be made to fit, as opposed to discovering what does not.
