When did Honda add a radio knob to the 3rd generation LX touch-screen? My 2015 doesn't have one. Thoughts on mods?

 

I never say never as far as "mods".
I've seen people do some remarkable things.
But I would think just trying to add a knob to the existing non-knob radio, would be near to impossible.

My Fit is "Non-Knob"...and I don't think it really is a big deal. I use the steering wheel controls the vast majority of the time, the touch screen does work when needed, and IMO the non-knob look, seems more streamline and modern.

I actually may in the minority that likes the non-knob choice.

 

All Canadian 3rd Gen LX's have a volume knob. ÉX and above do not have it from 2015 to 2017. You're not missing out.

 

my 2015 Canadian LX doesn't have a knob. It's a touch-screen. Is this rare ? US vs. CDN difference?

 

Dunno if it could even be done with the stock radio, but....am not a fan of touchscreens - touchscreens and my fingers do not get along well, I curse my cell phone daily. One of the reasons I love my LX, knobs and buttons.....and the manual trans, of course.

 

Actually I'm mistaken. Canadian Fit's 2015 to 2017 have a 5" screen in the DX, the LX has the 7" touchscreen but without the tweeters. That is, if I interpret the 2015/2016 brochures correctly.

 

Don't really understand the fascination, but I guess boys and their knobs...

I just use the steering wheel controls five nines...

 

This is correct. The Canuck DX has the 5" screen with the volume knob, as does the US LX. The Canuck LX has the same radio as the US EX.
