Hitch recommendations for 2018 Fit?
#22
I installed the Curt #11406 hitch almost three years ago on my '15 Fix LX.
Completely happy with it, been pulling a trailer with two dirt bikes for three summers now. Installed it myself in the driveway.
With the right rear wheel jacked up and the muffler hangers slipped off, the hitch just bolted on. No distress to the exhaust system, it just drooped down out of the way. Only minor pita was getting the rubber hangers off but dish soap helped in putting them back on.
I had warranty work done with the hitch on the car, including a vtc actuator replacement - no hassle from Honda.
Also bought a good inexpensive bike carrier, easy EASY to use.

Well it becomes a bit of a conundrum when you say, I want a hitch and rack for my Fit, but I'm afraid to have one installed.
A lot of people, many within this thread HAVE installed hitches and use Bike Racks, so it IS possible.
The decision whether you want to take the risk the installation and usage might represent in terms of warranty invalidation is entirely yours.
I have never read a thread where someone reported to of had any work denied because of the installation of a hitch or usage of a rack.
If you can find one, I'd be interested.

Yes mt, and no concern about drivetrain issues, because outside of North America:
Towing capacity (kg)
trailer with brakes (manual) 1000
trailer with brakes (automatic) 800
trailer without brakes 450
ball down force 45
And a worn-out clutch is always going to be my $$ anyway.
Btw, know your trailer weight and tongue weight, don't guess !

My SO did it and he didn't have to bend anything. Apparently only the Drawtite hitch has you bend something to install it but the Curt one doesn't. All he had to do was let the muffler hang down and then put it back on.
