Water on passenger floormat

Hello there! I bought a new 2018 Fit back in December, love it! I did notice last week, in our rainy season, that I see small amounts of water coming in the passenger door under the speaker, and landing on the rubber floor mat. I know I have to take it back to the dealer as it’s under warranty, but has anyone else experienced this? I just don’t want them to brush it off.

Getting this back on track...

Water showing up in that area can usually be blamed on either a clogged or leaking drainage tube from the roof or the upper door gasket. The dealer should be able to find the leak.

Thank you! The other post, not sure what the point of it was, trollllll. Hopefully they can find it, just not sure if rain will be needed for them to duplicate it.

Yeah, most of his posts are trolling.

A hose can be used to simulate rain. lol. There have been a lot of reports of leaks in earlier GK Fits. They probably know the usual places to look.

This happened to my '18 Sport. Took 'em about 4 days, but they eventually figured it out. I'm not sure exactly which one was the main culprit, but the dealer replaced my door speaker and side mirror assembly.

Thanks so much! That at least gives me some type of history of theee problems, by now I hope they are discovering them.

It sure is our rainy season. combine that with the temperature see-saw and the winds, leaks are going to happen even on the best of cars. Hondas tend to be water tight, but not invincible.

Plugged drain tubes, either A/C or sunropfs are frequent sources.

I found some, maybe a 1/2 cup, on my passenger floor mat. Lucky i had the 3dmax mats so it was an easy toss. I felt all around the door and didn't feel any source for it, and the carpet under it was dry. but this thread makes me want to check out the right front speaker to make sure its still working.

Anyone have a link / diagram of drain points on the dor ?

They said it was a molding inside the door jam, needed refastened. Carpet under rubber mat was slightly damp but they dried it out and ran it through the car wash, so I will keep an eye on it. They’re saying the speaker wasn’t compromised. Time will tell, that’s the inky update I have so far. I got a free oil change while there, and had them rotate the tires.
