The engine is designed, and tuned, to be reved under load (i think). Unless you can verify (or alter) the stock tune to compensate for REDACTED comparing-? avoid it?

I think 4000 rpm in neutral is about as "free revving" as you need in neutral, I mean, c'mon..... what're ya gonna do, rev it to redline and drop the clutch? Good luck with that with an econobox. FWIW, threads like this make me go down to the garage and check mine out, if it's a problem/feature/defect whatever that I have not heard of...…. my neutral limiter kicks in at about 4700, and that's the first time I've hit that in neutral. IIRC, my dad's old Olds 88 had a lower-than-redline limiter, so.....'t'ain't nothin' new

Anybody else notice that when you drop to N and rev the engine, the person beside you can't hear it? I'm talking about your passenger -- and the car next to you.

Because no one wants to acknowledge some dork in a CVT Fit revving their engine like a tool.
