Odd Problem
My 2015 Fit sounded a little different when starting this week. It's a sound I've come to associate with a failing battery or alternator.
But I ignored it until Friday, when the car wouldn't start. So I procured a jump start and drove directly to a repair shop. The battery and alternator were tested, and nothing was found to be wrong.
In 40-plus years of car ownership I have never encountered an intermittent problem of that nature.
Anyone have a similar problem with your Fit?

When you start your fit, are you turning a key- or pushing a button? There were some issues noted with the start button in other threads. As for the noise a video may help- these are fairly noisy cars until they're warmed up.

The battery ........ were tested, and nothing was found to be wrong.
Batteries routinely pass according to that miserable handheld tester that are actually bad.
Problem here is everyone relies on that tester as the end-all be-all of test equipment, when in reality it only tests for one out of a dozen or more different ways a battery can fail.
If it's still got the original battery, it's probably in need of replacement now.
Or, maybe something is draining the battery after the car is shut off. Draw test using a low current ammeter would prove or disprove this idea, normal draw is expected to be around 30mA or less after all the modules have had time to go to 'sleep'.

If your battery and alternator are okay and sounded different during start up, wouldnt u look at the starter itself? not sure, maybe im missing something in this process of elimination.

Just to close out the thread: The car failed to start again Monday morning. I got it running by hooking up a trickle charger and waiting 30 minutes, then drove it to Discount Tire in St. Louis, Michigan, where I had a new battery installed.
It has started just fine since.
However, my stereo works differently now. I've been playing music from a flash drive for months, and the dash display never showed what song was playing. But suddenly it's doing just that since new battery was installed. Now it tells me name of song, name of artist and name of album that song appears on.
Weird, huh?
