Rear wiper motor

Has anyone had their rear wiper motor fail?

noticed my wiper pointing straight up. Tried the switch. Nothing. Gave it a little nudge. Motor engaged and wiper returned to down position.

tried switch again….motor made noise and started clicking. Wiper pointed straight up again.

common failure?

First, check to make sure the wiper arm isn't loose. It's held on to a splined shaft by a small nut. You don't want it too tight if you ever hope to remove it again, but you also don't want it too loose. Also, if it is loose make sure you get everything lined up correctly before making it tight.

If you do need to access the rear wiper motor, it's very easy on a GE8 and probably the same on the older and newer Fits.
