"Power Is On"

2017 Fit. EX. When I turn off the car, this appears on the dash and stays light for a while before turning off. As I push the Start./Stop button to turn off the car, there is a slight buzzing/grinding noise that occurs for 3 or 4 seconds, and this light comes on. It will stay on for a while (an hour or so) and then goes away.

There is a symptom that may or not be related. When I start the car, Sirius does not start and the radio diverts to the FM setting. I've also had the radio do this while driving.

I disconnected my camera system to insure there is no sympathetic battery drain.

Given the short life of the 51R battery, I am going crazy.

Obligatory "have you checked all the fuses?" One of the always-on "memory" circuits could be out, making the head unit reset (try to eject a non-existent CD) every time the ignition is turned off and back on again.

The problem turns out to be a short circuit in the starter lock.

You can drop in the larger 51R battery instead of the stock 151R. Typically the tray does not need modification.

I did this with my '16 LX a few years ago when I lived in the upper midwest and the winters were brutal. The extra CCA of the 51R does make a difference.
