Valve adjustment/MM codes?

I was just reading over the Maintenance Minder codes in the manual (p. 359) and there are some things in there that I'm hoping somebody can explain; specifically the valve adjustment.

"Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 if they are noisy."

What does this process entail? Is it a DIY thing or a take to the dealer thing? Service A is an oil change, which a lot of people on here may be getting ready to do. I Plan on changing my own oil, but will I still need to go to the dealer for a valve adjustment? And do you adjust them every oil change?

Also, there are are 10 items under code B and most of them are "inspections." I'm just getting a sense that some of these items won't be DIYs, maybe by design to keep you in the dealer's garages.

Tire rotation is sub-coded as "1." If I were to do that this weekend*, before the Minder says to, is there a way to reset individual MM codes, or do you just reset the whole thing?

*before I'm told to wait for the MM to say tire rotation, I want to say that I'm doing it because I drive kind of hard and take corners quickly. I have 6k miles on the tires. I just bought some jack stands on sale and figured rotating the tires would be a good chance to play with them. I've never done it myself either so all of that makes me curious to try it.

Any insight on these items or other MM functions?

If you drive hard enough to need a rotation before the MM says to do so then it won't be accurate the next time either. Better to just set up your own schedule and ignore the MM for rotations.

Are we sure they have adjustable valves?

Good point. Truth is, I probably don't, but I see only benefit in rotating them and like I said I have a brand new set of jack stands that are begging to used for something. I also have a trip planned for Halloween weekend that will probably be another 1,500 miles, so a rotation seems well timed. I guess I'm broaching "ain't broke, don't fix it" territory though.

Yes. I've seen tons of references to valve adjustments on these forums, just not enough info to figure out how it's done or if it is an easy DIY. It is also in the manual.

I probably should have posted this in the general discussion as I don't believe it is specific to the GK.

The GK has an entirely different head.

Why would it be coded into the MM and listed in the 2015 manual if the GK didn't have them? I don't know anything about them (hence this thread), but to me all signs point to yes, it has adjustable valves.

They recommend valve adjustment with almost every other service code, so I would think it's routine. I was looking for information on how it's done.

If the fuel trim is fine and the valves aren't noisey no need to adjust them.
