Did they say an Android Auto update or just an Android update?

 

I postep in specific to andriod auto so that's what I'm hoping for.

 

Make that two of us.

 

I get nothing but confused with Honda's answers as to when full compatibility with Android is expected. BUT, my MOSTLY compatible Android phone, does not work properly. According to Honda's compatible phone list, many features on my phone are supposed to work well (bluetooth streaming, caller ID etc...) and they all have problems. Nothing but runarounds from Honda and the dealer.

 

I have been holding off buying a Fit until this comes out. I just got repairs at my dealership on my 2008 Fit. I went over and asked the sales person. "When does Android Auto come out for the Fit?". I received a total blank stare (the guy was older). I went on saying that Honda was a founding member of the OAA. Still nothing. Not a good sign.

 

I wrote on their twitter again this time they made it clear that there wasn't any knowledge of an upgrade to use android phones or Android auto in the fit. I guess I'm gonna go aftermarket when available

 

Figures. Well they won't get my money. Thanks for checking.

You might keep holding off. I have been told that there is an update coming and then not, never a straight answer. Just got a response from Honda in writing 12-08-2014. "The Honda audio system is built to be compatible with i-phones. It is not built to be compatible with android phones. Some functions will work with android phones but it is hit and miss depending on the specific phone"
