USB issues with iPhone

Hi all,

New forum member and relatively recent Fit owner. I purchased my 2015 Fit last september, and in the beginning, my iPhone worked swimmingly with it.

After a recent update, my car no longer recognizes my phone when I plug it in. I simply cannot play audio through USB. Bluetooth works ok, but it doesn't send over any meta info (e.g., artist/album/song, etc.) Plus bluetooth audio quality isn't as good.

So, this sucks and is really annoying. I'm surprised to find that there are very few threads on this topic. I was sort of expecting legions of angry fit/ios owners when I first searched the topic. Is this just me? is there an easy fix?

I'm running iOS 8.3

I have been avoiding the update, mostly because it doesn't add anything of value to me, but after seeing a few post like this one I certainly will not up date.

It's hard to avoid Apple's updates, as Apple will load the update into your phone any time it is plugged in with Wi-Fi enabled. This has happened to me several times, as I can't always remember to disconnect Wi-Fi every time I charge my iPhone.

True, you don't have to install the update, but if you don't, it will just sit there taking up about 6 Gb of space on your phone until you do.

I know it will automatically update apps over wifi, but not the entire iOS system unless you tell it to, unless you know of some setting I don't.

Disappointed

I would like to know if anyone finds a fix for this as well. I was very disappointed when it stopped working through sub and the Bluetooth doesn't seem that great.

When a problem like this happens I would try and connect another iphone via Bluetooth to see if the same thing happens. I would also connect it via USB to see if the same thing happens.

I am running iOS 8.4 (iphone 5) with no audio issues.
