Remote Turn On

Does anyone know the wire color for the remote turn on behind the factory head unit? It looks like ill be splicing in between the harness for my amp, but it looks there are some color variances between years within the GK series.

Yes, Connector A with the 24 pin, and its A23 for the ACC on the 2018+ heads. It is a purple wire.

If you have a 2015-2017, it is A24 and still a purple wire

Bassguitarist1985, do you know where the purple wewi A24 pin can be tapped easier than the back of the head unit? I'm not sure where the wiring harness runs.

I'd like to tap into the power on for an aftermarket self powered amp, but not really interested in getting behind the head unit if I don't have to.

Hard to say. Its all buried in the dash cavity. You dont have to tap the ACC power behind the HU though. You can tap fuse 17 or 36 which are the ACC power accessory plugs. They only have power when the ACC on the ignition is on. Its the same powered bus.

Thanks for the info. I was going to tap 36 with an add a fire but I figured it may be cleaner to tell into the head units power on wire if it was easily accessible.

Yeah unfortunately not as easy to get to. Have to remove the meter trim, upper vent, two screws on top of head unit, and one on the bottom that is very hard to see, then pull the unit out. I've done it so many times its down to a science for me, but it still takes some time.
