I never liked the chrome EX garnish so I picked up an LX and had a body shop color match it:

How much did the LX hatch trim piece cost? I'm thinking about getting one since I've never been a fan of the chrome look.

It was about $79. I bet you could do better though. I got it here:

Now that I'm used to the painted garnish, it's a keeper. I like it much better than chrome or black. I've got one more cosmetic mod in the works. Hopefully it looks good as well:

Its a really good look. I like that you went a different way and painted it to match.

Thanks buddy. It looks much better in person. My cell pics are crappy. The shop matched the WOP perfectly.

I removed the chrome honda emblem from the garnish today and painted it black. I like it. I'm trying to get away from the chrome stuff. I might even paint the FIT emblem black and put it back on.

Crappy cell pic but you get the idea. I like it clean, simple, and understated.

Looks like a minivan?

Are you going to get rid of the chrome on the front grill as well?

Possibly. My next mod is for the front and I hope it will be done next week. I'm thinking about painting the front emblem WOP but then it won't be as durable to road debries as chrome.

I don't know yet.

I dont know why people hate the chrome trim so much on the fit, I think it looks good!

It looks ok. I know when I first walked around one of these on the lot, that giant chrome piece jumped out at me. First thought was "what's with that giant chrome trim piece?" It just doesn't seem to match the aesthetics of the rest of the car. Every color to me looks like it he chrome garnish is a dress-up after thought. It just doesn't look right to me.

I finally installed cool white LED back-up lights and red LED blinkers. Much better. All that's left that's not LED is the headlights, fog lights, and dashboard. I have Silvania Xenons and they're better than stock for sure. I'm not sure if I'll see an improvement over these headlights with LEDs. Are LED headlights better than Halogen?

I'm hoping my next mod will be ready tomorrow. It's about a week overdue...

Alright, so I picked a sport grill. After looking it over, I noticed the "mustache" looking inserts are removeable. Just a few clips and screws, so I had a local shop color match them white orchid pearl:

It's quite a bit of work to swap the grill:

It took about an hour or so to do. It's not really that fun, I don't think. I'm kinda glad it's over with:

The end result. Not bad!

What LEDs did you use for both of these?

I used the following part#:

Rear blinkers: 7440-RHP28-T RED, 2ea

Rear Back-up: 7440-WHP28-T WHITE, 2ea

Front blinkers: 7443-AW60-SA, 2ea

Load resistors: RL-650, 4ea

I purchased them from superbrightled.com. If you ctrl+c / ctrl+v the part#'s in their search box, it will take you right to them.

These are a noticeable improvement over the OE incandescent: Rear blinkers are rated 130 lumens each; 6000K back-up are rated 550 lumens each; front blinkers are rated 192 lumens each.

Front blinkers are 5700K white lights when parking lights are in the on position, then switch to on/off amber when signal/ hazard is used (type A switchbacks), all while consuming a fraction of the power at a claimed 25 times the service life over OE. Hopefully I'll never need to change them for the life of the car.

More info on LED conversions for the entire car can be found here:

Love the color matched garnish.

Just curious, does a bmx bike not fit in the fit? I have one too.

Yeah, it fits fine. Fold the seats down and lay it down flat. If I'm somewhere and it starts raining or something, I'll pull over and put it inside. It's just so much faster to throw it on/off the rack, and if it's dirty, the interior stays cleaner.
